Dwight Solomon Russell, 50, of Stem passed on to his eternal home on Saturday, September 15th 2012.

A native of Granville County the son of Luther Solomon and Jenny Dickerson Russell. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, attended South Granville High School and Vance Granville Community College. He loved his dachshund dog named Angel and had a great love for fishing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will be in South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem.

Surviving other than his parents are his sister Cindy R. Godfrey of Creedmoor, his brother, Ronald Russell (Mary) of Stem and his former wife, Wendy Pruitt Russell.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church, 4024 Old Weaver Trail, Creedmoor, NC 27522.

Visitation 12:30-2:00 PM Tuesday, September 18th 2012 prior to the funeral service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.

Eakes Funeral home in Creedmoor is assisting the Russell Family.

May god be with you all at this difficult time and give you comfort. Please know that Dwight was a great friend and a wonderful respectful gentleman. I just saw him last week and it just breaks my heart to hear of his accident. May his sweet soul rest in eternal peace.

Dwight was always a good friend,although I had not seen him in about a month. He loved the Lord, and cherished his family. My prayers are with you all at this time. May the Lord give you the strength and peace in your hearts. He is with the Lord now, and has no more pain.

Dwight always talked to strangers,,,was himself and didn't try to impress anyone,,good loving heart..he is in God's hands now...
