Dearest Earl! Today I realized you were 101, I believe on Saturday!! Happy Birthday dearest friend!! I missed your 100th! I so apologize. I had just lost my beloved grandson and was in a state of mourning.

The laughter we shared cannot be duplicated in Any way, with anyone! With you I could soar like a lunatic and my humor was as high as it could go! And your laughter made it something! We had such such fun! (Like two innocent school kids, smoking behind the house! Gulping on whiskey from our stolen bottles!)

Such innocent fun and laughter! I thought life would never change !  My precious friend would always be there when I called or would call me….

I cherish so many colorful memories we shared! Many conversations so funny I was left in tears! I love you Earl! As much today as when we first met! 55 years ago!

I had not seen Earl for many years prior to his passing, but I still think of him from time to time. The world remains poorer for his passing.

Ah, Earl ~ you wonderful friend ~ I miss you tremendously! I have a huge file folder of your letters and postcards and have been reading through them. Some are so hilarious and some so ribald that I don't dare share them! Think of you every day with much fondness!

And then you would laugh, and say something profound. that is what you would be saying to me if I called you today......How I love and miss you, your spirit is ever strong and present in my soul. Always with me.

"Hello my darling"....I am constantly reaching out to you in my mind and heart. Missing those Saturday telephone calls, always filled with great emotion, as we angerly discussed political corruption, or endless laughter over silly silly play on words, by both of us or some happening I must admit I elaborated on just for your benefit.Oh how I cherish & miss sharing humor,& the arts with U.

I'm hugging the WWF stuffed tiger that you sent me (your free gift in joining) as you teased me about being Toni the Tiger to a high school beau. Working with you was such a pleasure as we enjoyed our private jokes, lunches and glasses of wine. Never lost touch as our friendship blossomed! You were a jewel in the crown on earth! And I'm missing you tremendously & your humor!.

I've been thinking about Dad since waking this morning. Last night I was reflecting on how much fun it would have been to share with him the landing of the Curiosity rover on the surface of planet Mars by NASA. Happy Birthday, Dad....and love to all those who have expressed their affectionate memories of him here.

A long walk looking for agates and nice bowl of ice cream in Big Lagoon is a way Grandpa and I shared our August birthdays together. He is forever in my heart.

Earl was a great inspiration to my father - one of my dad's best friends. I will always remember running into their office when I was a child and going straight for Earl's candy drawer when no one was around. Thank you, Earl, for your friendship and professionalism when my dad was dying - you were one of the few he trusted. I hope your spirit path is lit well for your final journey.

Earl will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege to know him. He was an excellent lawyer and, more importantly, a very good person. He possessed great wisdom, and I loved his sense of humor and humility. The world is poorer for his passing.

Dear Earl, Please forgive me for running over your head with my suitcase. I am glad you had such a good sense of humor.  RIP.
