Earline "Micki" Lunquest, née Daubenspeck was born January 13, 1924 in Clay County, West Virginia. She was the first of four children born to the late Dana Parks and Lester Daubenspeck. Both parents and two of her three siblings, Blaine, and Delmer (Buck) preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Blendine.

Earline graduated in 1943 as valedictorian from Clay County High School. She soon after moved to Baltimore, Maryland for work. She worked at Western Electric and in her later years also worked as a substitute teacher. She met her husband James (Jim), now deceased, in Baltimore and they married in 1945. Micki and Jim enjoyed spending time with their close friends and neighbors. In April of 1966, Earline gave birth to their only child, James Alan.

Micki loved the arts and nature. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, mystery novels, the paranormal, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, painting, and taking care of numerous plants and pets over the years.

She became a grandmother to Kristy Lynn in 1985 and loved her like her own child. She filled Kristy's life with a wealth of knowledge and love. Kristy has fond memories of taking long walks (and Micki walked a lot, even into her 80s) around Hampden with her grandmother. They would visit the library often, stop in the thrift stores and small shops along the Avenue. Her grandmother always had fascinating stories, even if exaggerated, and a unique sense of humor. She was also very wise and intelligent. Whenever there was something Kristy didn't know, she would ask her grandmother, whether it be about flowers, trees, or life. There was definitely no one else like Micki.

Micki developed dementia and spent the last 5 years of her life being cared for by the Carsa Home (assisted living) and the family is so grateful for their care. She passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021.

To mark the close of day
So the world may mourn in darkness
For the sun has passed away

Micki's passing has created a darkness in our world, but her light will shine on forever. She will be greatly missed.
