It’s been 2 years since you left us and I still miss you dearly. I am grateful for all the time we spent together, but still wish I spent more. I want to hug you and hold your hands (though they will most definitely be freezing). You always made me feel very special, loved, and appreciated. You will always be in my heart. I love you, Nene. I really do hope we can meet again someday.

Dear Mickie
It's been too years today since the Heavenly Father took you home to be
With him and his son Jesus Christ.
Today especially I have been thinking of each and all of the beautiful good memories that my family and your family had together especially each of the holidays that my family shared together especially Christmas and
New years
Especially when you made your homemade chocolate Fudge and all these years later I can still remember
eating your home made chocolate Fudge how yummy that home made chocolate Fudge and your other homemade deserts were back then
Mickie sure enough I can't wait until my family and your family see each other all of these years later
I still love you and miss your beautiful

The first Mother’s Day without you and I wish you were here so much. There is no one in the entire world that can fill the void you left behind. I hope I can one day be with you again, but even now, you are forever in my heart. I hope you know how much you are loved and cherished.

I knew this wonderful lady a long time ago. My brother and I have been long time friends of Kristy. I have very fond memories of spending time at her house and listening to her stories. She was a no holds bar kinda person. Always tell it like she saw it. She gave some great advise! You could always see the love she had for her family. My life was blessed to know her. Rest In Peace.

I met Mickie through my parents Nellie and Doc Grant. They new Mickey from living on Linden Avenue back then
My family members Mike my brother and Gail my sister and my brother John Jones Jr.
New Mickey from way back then most of the holidays we went over Mickey and Jim house .just taking about the times back then
What I remember the most about Mickie was her home made fudge. She would give you pieces of fudge to take home
I remember as a teenager Mickey would be in the kitchen eating fudge and you couldn't just eat one piece of fudge you ate like 3 pieces of her homemade fudge
You talk about a sugar rush back then you forget about how much sugar that was in the fudge
It was that damn good back then. Seems like only yesterday me and my family went over her house for Christmas and Newsyears.
Mickie will be forever in my family's heart. And the family members of Jean and Smitty and their daughters Duke
Thank you LORD God for Mickey being a long time friend to me and my family

Her Life
March 25, 2021
Earline "Micki" Lunquest, née Daubenspeck was born January 13, 1924 in Clay County, West Virginia. She was the first of four children born to the late Dana Parks and Lester Daubenspeck. Both parents and two of her three siblings, Blaine, and Delmer (Buck) preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Blendine.

Earline graduated in 1943 as valedictorian from Clay County High School. She soon after moved to Baltimore, Maryland for work. She worked at Western Electric and in her later years also worked as a substitute teacher. She met her husband James (Jim), now deceased, in Baltimore and they married in 1945. Micki and Jim enjoyed spending time with their close friends and neighbors. In April of 1966, Earline gave birth to their only child, James Alan.

Micki loved the arts and nature. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, mystery novels, the paranormal, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, painting, and taking care of numerous plants and pets over the years.

She became a grandmother to Kristy Lynn in 1985 and loved her like her own child. She filled Kristy's life with a wealth of knowledge and love. Kristy has fond memories of taking long walks (and Micki walked a lot, even into her 80s) around Hampden with her grandmother. They would visit the library often, stop in the thrift stores and small shops along the Avenue. Her grandmother always had fascinating stories, even if exaggerated, and a unique sense of humor. She was also very wise and intelligent. Whenever there was something Kristy didn't know, she would ask her grandmother, whether it be about flowers, trees, or life. There was definitely no one else like Micki.

Micki developed dementia and spent the last 5 years of her life being cared for by the Carsa Home (assisted living) and the family is so grateful for their care. She passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021.

An excerpt of an original poem by Micki:

Night gently pulls the curtain
To mark the close of day
So the world may mourn in darkness
For the sun has passed away

Micki's passing has created a darkness in our world, but her light will shine on forever. She will be greatly missed.

I have known Nene(Earline) practically all my life. I will always remember her for her genuine kindness and generosity. She loved to paint, care for her animals, and do her crosswords, and keep me supplied with plants. Nene has always looked out for me and her grand-daughter, Kristy. She took me in her home when no one else would. Nene always tried to help me be a better person in life. She put me through computer school and helped me raise Kristy throughout the years to become the beautiful and intelligent woman she is today. Nene always treated Kris and I with the upmost respect and love. I will always remember you Nene and never forget what you have done for me and my daughter. You will always have a special place in my heart. May you rest in peace.  Love you always, Pam.
