His Life

King, Earnest Lee “Bruh” was born on December 27, 1936 in Union Springs, Alabama. He was raised by his parents the late T. Posey King and late Odis Lee King. Earnest was the second eldest of twenty two children, twelve of which preceded him in death.
He attended Bullock County High School.

He started his career as a Superior with the City of Coral Gables, after dedicating over thirty years; he retired to spend more precious time with his family. He then worked a second job at Stevenson Towing Company where he labored for over twenty years.

He leaves behind seven sisters; Pecolia Chance, Marie Wooley, Lonnie Jolly, Bobbie Smith, Nora Beckett, Pearl Grace King and Carolyn Sanders and three brothers Larry King, Ted King, and Arthur King. He was joined in holy matrimony to his surviving wife Emma Lou King. This couple relocated to Miami, Florida in the early 1960’s to start their loving family. During this loving union they were blessed with ten beautiful children: Mamie Zackery (Deceased), Barbara Schmidt (Harro), Peggy Howard, Carolyn McClain, James McClain, Donnie McClain, Yvonne Hill, Janice Whylly, Darryl King Sr. (Michelle), Sharon King, and Cassandra King. From their children they were blessed with a generation of grandchildren: Katrina Zackery, Tracy Pitchford, Renee Holloway, Sherrell Howard, Teniqus Lansey, Marquita McClain, Brittany McClain, Anastasia Whylly, Javariss Lawrence, Darryl King Jr., Tristen Lawrence, Darmarqus Lawrence, Jamal McClain, James McClain Jr., Jordan McClain, Dariel King. From this union they were blessed with twenty great grand-children and one great-great grandchild.
