Adieu Our Quintessential Grandma Ebun Kofoworola Balogun
To the family of Funso and Aderonke Adeniyi, it has been a great blessing knowing and being closely associated with the family of Professor Ekundayo and Mrs. Ebunoluwa Kofoworola Balogun who we all most fondly refer to as Grandpa and Grandma Balogun respectively. The association dates back nearly four decades and we have always blessed the human and divine connections that birthed it. Indeed, this unique couple and senior friends are icons of good living and role models to us in many ways; notably in their personalities, family relationship as well as service to humanity and to God. It’s therefore a rude shock and devastating blow that the cold hands of death snatched away our beloved Grandma Balogun on Wednesday June 24, 2020.
True to her name, Ebunoluwa, Grandma Balogun was indeed a special gift, a rare gem from God Almighty to humanity, particularly many of us whose lives she has positively impacted. Grandma was richly endowed and well equipped for her service and roles on earth. With her robust personality, bubbling energy, vigor and radiance, she livened and lit up the environment and people around her. She was a true lover of nature and the environment, with one of the most beautiful flower gardens around. Above all, Grandma was very charitable and generous. She was also a fantastic cook and delightful entertainer. By our family rating, Grandma prepared the best casseroles, zobo, doughnuts and cakes to mention a few. From the aforementioned, it’s obvious we shall greatly miss our beloved Grandma Balogun physically, but she will forever live in our hearts.
We thank God Almighty for her remarkable life and times and that this will live long after her. May light perpetual continue to shine upon her soul in Jesus mighty name.
