His Life

Thank You Grandpa

July 6, 2011

We didn't have alot of years with you but we did have alot of fun years with you.

Thanks Grandpa for watching us, playing with us, building things for us and loving us.  When we play in the sandbox you built or have fun on the swingset you brought over one day or enjoy the big yard at the lake you took such good care of and then took us for rides on the tractor after the grass was cut, we'll always remember you were there for us.

Love your Grand-daughters

To my Dear Dad,

Thank you Dad for all the years of giving and caring, of patience and loving discipline. Thank you for all the years of listening to my problems, guiding me into making my own decisions, and sharing my disappointments as well as my dreams and successes! I will cherish all of our incredible memories that you gave me, all of the great vacations we shared as a family, all the sporting events you took me to as a kid, and I will miss your incredible witty sense of humour when you made us all laugh. I am so proud of you, you taught me to work hard, stand up for what you believe in, love and respect your family and friends, and most importantly letting me blast my music as a kid and sing to my hearts content! Thank you also for taking care of Ruffles all winter. She will so sadly miss you when you shovel the snow, and the time you spent with her in your beautiful yard. Your love of music, nature, animals and sports as well as your family always made me proud and lucky that a man as special as you is my Dad! I will miss you so much, and words can’t describe the love I have for you! Until we meet again,

Love Your Daughter Tannis

Obituary Entry

July 6, 2011

After a brief illness, it is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Edward Timothy Skibinski.  Ed was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  Ed enjoyed playing golf, watching the golf channel, listening to country music and watching movies. He also loved playing with his granddaughters and looking after his grand-dog “ruffles”. Ed enjoyed landscaping and gardening as well as maintaining the lawn and trees in the city and lake property.  He always looked forward to his weekly lunch on Thursday’s with his golf buddies.

Ed worked for Mirtone Industries Alarm Company as a Western Regional Manager which later changed to Edwards Canada - Fire and Security Alarms.  Ed was well known in the electrical field during his working years. Ed was a talented man.  There wasn’t anything he couldn’t accomplish when he set his mind to it.  He always maintained there was only one way to do a job and that was the right way.  He had a tough exterior but a heart of gold.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, son, daughter-law, daughter, grandchildren as well as the family dog. Ed also leaves to mourn, his two brothers, sister in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  He was pre-deceased by parents (John and Martha) and brother Walter.  Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the St. Boniface hospital (A7-West).  Special thanks to Dr. Armstrong and the surgical team for your care and compassion.

Thanks to niece and Nurse Joanne for her advice & support.

In compliance with Ed’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Ed’s body has been donated to science and cremation will take place at a later date. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held in Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Kidney Foundation or Winnipeg Humane Society with Ed Skibinski as the tribute name.

“Rest in Peace Dear Ed”, until we meet again.
