Edgar Murphy Rowand, 94, husband of Edith Scholl Rowand, passed away Thursday November 4, 2021 at his home in Connersville, Kentucky. 

Born December 31, 1926 in Washington Township, New Jersey to the late Wilbur & Ella Johnson Rowand, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a ladies’ hair stylist for more than 35 years, a lay minister and a member of Clays Mill Baptist Church. 

Additional survivors include 2 children: Robert Rowand of Perkasie, Pennsylvania and Marcia Rosenberg of Lancaster, South Carolina; a sister, Eleanor Renshaw of West Chester, Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Naomi Rowand, a son, David Rowand, and 8 siblings.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Pastor Paul Chamberlin. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon Wednesday until the time of service.


**Additional services will be held  2:00 P.M. Friday November 12, 2021 at the Mullica Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon Friday until the time of service.
Local services under the direction of Fertig Funeral Home.
