THE LAST MOMENT

March 20, 2016

Today exactly a year extra since the beautiful soul of my beloved mum pass from this world and into another on April 30, 2004,
I George,Innocent, Henrietta, Rita, Monique, relations and friends miss you very much mum. We loved you so much and missing you now more.
is eight years today but It's hard for us to believe you are gone. my primary influence, sustainer, supporter and wisest counselor left me physically. Mum was such an active participant in this world right to her very last breath. I am so grateful to have been with her towards her last days. , i could vividly remember our last conversations which she asked me to get her the estimation for my birthday celebration, caring and compassionate. She was still worried about me, a mother to the end.

Mum was also a remarkably wise counsel. She surprised me over and over with her balanced thoughtful advice. Why was I surprised? Because as one of my staunchest supporters, which she was, you expected her to fall in line right behind you and see it all your way. To her remarkable credit she gave loving thoughtful and very balanced advice. I would like to think this was also a result of the very honest and open and strong relationship we shared.
You will always be my loving mother, my dearest friend. This is only a goodbye to your elegant dignified, worldly remembrance. Your gifts will continue to sustain us until we meet again. We love you our darling mum. Thank you so much for being you. may peace be upon your soul.(Amen)
I have some very important ‘thank yous’ to extend; first to Dr. Sheriff a specialist at Muhamadu Wase Specialist Hospital Kano with the nurses and other Doctors there., he took care of mum as if she was his own mother; Also the Doctors and Nurses that attended to her at Ahmadu Bello teaching Hospital Zaria. and to Mr Chidi Mbatuegwu, whom was driving her to get around, and also My late Dad (Mr Andy),Sisters(Rita And Henrietta) who was with her till the end. This in turn allowed her to continue to live in her home surrounded by the people and things she loved. Thank you all. And “thank you” to all of you who contributed in one way or the other, it was all of you that helped to keep her so vital and happy right to the end.
