Her Life

My mom Edith Reppard (Edie)

March 11, 2019

My Mom was a wonderful happy woman. She was married to my dad Melvin (Mel) for over 25 years, and they had 5 kids together. Sue, Chuck, Steve, Dan and me. They saved the best for last. LOL. just joking guys.  She worked at the Giant on upper Front street when I went to kindergarten and continued there until about 2 years before her death. She worked part time and had summers off to spend with us kids.  She did not drive so she had to ask people for help a lot. Mostly her sister, whom I no longer acknowledge, my grandfather or our neighbors the Harringtons.  She was always friendly and smiling. She was overweight but she was happy with herself.  She was my best friend  up until the month before her death when she started pushing me away thinking it would be easier for me. It was not, it was harder.

She used to read a lot of Harlequin romances, loved Quincy, MD, and soap operas.  During the summer you could find her out on the back patio playing cards or marbles with the Harrington's and of course Josie (her BFF) drinking ice tea and playing for dimes. She was loved by many.

If you have a favorite memory of my mom, Edie, please feel free to share. I will add more later. Thanks for visiting.
