As in the video, I’ll always remember Ed’s smile, big and bright. Ed was a great guy and an even better father. I’m so glad I met Ed at Pathmark and got to witness his marriage to his best friend Jeanette in New Hope so many years ago. It was my pleasure to be invited to his surprise 60th birthday party , what a great day. I’ll miss my friend. My prayers go out to Jeanette and Ed’s girls.

Loved how your Dad treated everyone. Welcomed me with open arms. That was him non judgemental. Just accepted we are who we are. It has been a long time since I last saw him at my brothers funeral. But first thing was to cuddle me and dribble my sadness over him.
So so wishing you all peace. Love to you J,T,T And rest of family. Xxxx

I remember when I was much younger. My father Jonathan and us boys helped wire the house in Haycock. I cherish the memories of Christmas eve going to the Pentecost house and singing with Haycock Church. He had a wonderful personality. My thoughts and prayers are with you through this time.

I don't know where to begin. Eddie was a beautiful person; kind, loving, generous, and caring. There is no greater testimony to his generosity and kindness than how he brought people together at Thanksgiving.

He cared deeply for others and most especially Jeanette, Taryn, Tierney, and his sisters whom he loved from the bottom of his heart. Eddie was the best dad ever to his daughters. He also extended himself to those in need of a dad or a friend. To my children, he was "Uncle Eddie" and not a second cousin.

I have memories of him from our childhood when he came to Forest City to visit, knock on my door, and ask "Is Greg [my brother] home?" I always thought he was so cool and handsome and he was my cousin! I also remember Eddie asking us to start calling him "Eddie" and not his nickname "Teddy." (Sorry for mentioning your nickname, Eddie.)

My memories of Eddie always include his beloved place at Lewis Lake. Eddie brought laughter and fun to everyone's lives, especially at the lake. He built camp fires, pulled kids on tubes behind his boat, and peacefully fished in the evenings.

I am devastated by the loss of Eddie, but I am thankful each day to have known such a great man. Rest in peace, cousin.

Who Let The Dogs Out! Will forever bring a smile to my sad heart and remind me of Ed, since it became his song at a party long ago. He was a kind, genuine man that made you feel happy to be around him. You will be missed my friend.

Ed Pentecost was just a name to me for the longest time. I answered a switchboard and would always transfer calls to him. When I finally met him in person I was able to learn about him. Easy going, kind and caring person. So glad our paths crossed in this lifetime. Watch over us all from above Ed. I will keep the Pentecost family in my prayers during this sad and trying time.

I met Ed when I started working at Cayuga Pipe, and while I changes my position with the company, I often saw Ed in my travels. When I settled back down in the office in Telford, I was glad to see that he was there as well. Ed was a wonderful guy who always asked about my family and checked in to see how I was doing. He will surely be missed. I wish to send my deepest sympathies and condolences to his family.

His Life

A Wonderful Journey

June 20, 2020
Ed Pentecost lived a life of love, kindness and connection-he was often described as a 68-year-old in a 50-year-old man’s body.

Ever considerate and helpful, he would extend himself beyond expectations to his family, friends, work, community, church or stranger. The practice of being honest and showing consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values defines integrity…but also described Ed. His gift for negotiation, innovation, and commitment to excellence allowed him to create solutions and make things happen.

Ed’s passion was the “relationship”, whether it be personal or work. He developed them, he worked at them, and left lasting impressions. He was magnanimous…he inspired those around him, and his laugh was solid and infectious.

Ed had an excellent career in the construction industry for 31years, gained his Real Estate license in his late 20’s, and owned and operated Four Seasons Chimney Sweep with his wife, Jeanette for 14 years. He cut grass for Haycock township, was on several church committees at St. John the Baptist, and collected for Christ’s Home Children Services. Annually you could find him participating in the BCIU #22 EXPO, which helps integrate special needs children into the workforce. He was affiliated with the Allentown rescue for years and never thought twice about donating his time. He was a majestic skier and every Sunday for 13 years you could find him patrolling the slopes of Doe and then Bear Creek Mountain in Macungie, PA. Even after a bad ski accident in 1990, he got back on his skis and continued to cut some serious shapes.

Ed was a social creature. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, hunting, water sports, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, hiking, working out, good food, music, dancing, and parties. He was never without a project at his home or family lake house and even made cutting the lawn a form of leisure. A fan of eating pretzels while yelling at all the local Philly sport teams; he could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Ed had an energy and zest for life and always saw the best in people.

His main love was his wife, Jeanette. They shared 41 years of epic adventures. They shared a love that happens once in a lifetime, but it a love that makes our world move forward. It’s a love that bring peace, it’s a love that is rare but felt on such a deep level.

Ed was a great friend who I worked with, Spent time with and fished with. We always looked forward to our annual trout fishing trips to Worlds end State Park where we would rent a cabin and fish the Loyalsock creek. We would also travel the area in pursuit of other great fishing spots. One of our favorites was Rock Run in Ralston PA. Our fishing would involve a lot of hiking. Sometimes the weather would be good and other times we couldn't feel our fingers from the cold but we never stopped. We always had fun and made great memories. This world has lost a great man. Everyone liked Ed and his company. Ed always had positive infectious attitude. Ed will always be missed and I am thankful to have known him and for all the Great memories.

I met the Pentecost family when I was around 11. Early memories started with Ed’s daughter, Taryn, who quickly became my very best friend. At the time I had switched middle schools and the Pentecost family wanted to help me adjust, so Taryn invited me to a weekend at her family’s lake houses. I had no idea the impact this weekend away would have on my life. It was there I caught my first bass, first time I rowed a boat, first time I enjoyed real pierogies from one of Ed’s favorite places, first time I rafted behind a boat.  Ed was so excited about his boat. We enjoyed every moment we could with it, as sometimes it wouldn’t cooperate.

The first time I ever went camping was with Ed, Jeanette, Taryn, and Tierney in the most amazing pop up camper while joining the Mitchell’s annual Knobels trip. And I can’t even forget all the soccer and field hockey games you were on the sideline cheering us on.

When Taryn and I were in middle school,  I distinctively remember the joy Ed had taking Taryn and another friend of ours out on the back roads of Haycock in the Buick so we could spot deer. Oh the Buick. Then there was the tractors which were so coveted that when we started to bring boys around it was made very clear to keep the boys away from the tractors. And of course there is the Triumph.

My last memories with Ed was during one of Taryn’s recent visits home. He took she and I all throughout his favorite Bucks County back roads, admiring the Delaware River throughout Upper Blck Eddy.  He introduced me to my now favorite restaurant, The Black Bass, and to my favorite coffee shop/general store, Homestead Coffee Roasters.

It was so easy for the Pentecost family quickly became my own. I remember how excited our family was when we realized we were at the Outer Banks at the same time as the Pentecost’s.

I am overwhelmed by all the amazing memories I shared with this family. I’m so sorry for the loss of your main man. He was truly one of a kind, gentle, loving soul. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome.  I feel so honored to have grown up in the presence of such an inspiring, genuinely kind, loving man.

Ed, you have left such a huge footprint on my life and so many other lives. To say you will be missed is an understatement. Your spirit will continue to live on through all of us and our wonderful memories of you. I hope you are at peace. I will forever be here for your girls.

I met Ed as many did in the world of precast
concrete. A stellar salesman and gentlemen whose phone never seemed to stop ringing as we stopped for lunch between site visits.
We would chat together about the business, his endless list of people he knew, and his hobbies. He always insisted on helping me
with my duties post-tensioning culverts. He wanted to learn, but of course I would just always say "I got it". But with his muck boots in toe I would find him in the hole over my shoulder. When he stopped by Oldcastle for a final visit he looked for me but of course I was on the road so we didn't connect. I wondered the roads of haycock looking for his house one Sunday but never did find his house. So I'm left with the good times we had, the stories your customers still tell me while I'm on the road traveling about. Your a "good..good..." man Ed, missed deeply.
