OBITUARY

October 6, 2012

Edward Albert Ricketts 46, of Springfield, Ohio, lost his battle with cancer on June 16, 2003.  He was born on Septermber 5, 1956 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Constnce V. (York) and Robert G. Ricketts.  He was baptized at St. Johns in Springfield.with his brother Larry and sister Rebecca at the same time. Ed graduated from North High School in 1974 and JVS with a certificate in Electronics. He was in the Civil Air Patrol prior to joining the United States Air Force, where he advanced to Sargeant working in guidance technology.  After being stationed in Korea , Ed developed a deep respect for the Korean culture and beliefs, he also held an avid interest in science and electronics which led to his mechanical inclination, allowing hiim to solve just about any problem put before  him.  When Ed became ill, he was employed with Staples Distributions Center in London , Ohio as a maintenance technician, He enjoyed spending his spare time with his friends at Che's Rustic Lounge.  He is survived by his parents; a twin sister, Rebecca (Raymond) Castle, two brothers, Larry (Jeannie) Ricketts of California, Fred (Marie) Ricketts of Montana; nieces and nephews, Jacqualyn (Aaron) Simon, Cyndi (Mike) Vincent, Michelle Barattini, Scott Ricketts and Jenet Ricketts; great nephews Nicholas and Jacob, and lifetime friends George and Joy McDaniel, Bryan and Chris Walls, and Ruby (John) Johnson, George, Bryan, and Chris were like brothers to Ed and spent their innocent childhood days in adventure and companionship, Ruby was like a sister to Ed being in his life from his early teens to the end of his life.  He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Beatrice and Donald Ellis and Fred York, and his paternal grandparents, Albert and Alberta Ricketts.  At Mr. Ricketts request his remains will be cremated.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2003 from 12-1 pm in the JONES-KENNEDY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME Memorial contirbutions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
