Edward Murphy Thompkins Jr was the oldest of 4 children born to the late Edward Murphy and Mary Joyce Thompkins on February 7,1969 in Dayton Ohio.

Affectionately known throughout his life as Lil’ Edward, Lone Wolf, and Bald Head Murphy, Ed was always available to have a good time and laugh with. He was known for being the toughest guy in the room and a protector for his children and loved ones. Aside from the tough side that he showed to the world, he had a kind and gentle nature with those closest to him and enjoyed being a grandfather to his grandchildren and spoiling them. He will forever be missed by his family and friends.

Edward is preceded in death by both of his parents, his daughter Shahanha Thompkins, and his brother Ronald Thompkins. He leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers Dion and Demetrius Thompkins; his sister Keisha Johnson; his loving children Ashley Thompkins, Edward Murphy Thompkins 3rd, Erick Thompkins, Janessa Thompkins, and J’hanna Thompkins; the mothers of his children Kijshana Thompkins and Vanessa Perez;his 4 grandchildren, Dallas, Da’Niyah, Kai, and Messiah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends

I'm praying for our family. Wow this hit kind of hard. I remember when he first moved back from Florida. Family was everything for the Murphy's every Friday and Sat we would meet on the O (auntee sis house) and play card and dominos and turn up. We would have the music playing so loud with the street packed full of cars. I'm so glad he got a chance to move back and spend time with his mom Aunt Joyce and his kids and reconnect with his childhood friends. I will always keep his memory alive. Until we meet again cuz Love ya Candy Cane

You are my oldest brother, now you’re gone too! Having the love of a brother is nothing short of Amazing. My heart broke a little more on Thursday when you left us - it was sudden & I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye. I miss you & love you So very much! Just The 6 of Us!

December 19, 2022
As kids God joined the 6 of us together at Roth I.M.S. and we shared so many Blessed days on Brooklynn & Kammer together. As we know Ralph and Marvin are grieving you; we are too ( Sonya, Ranette& I) extend our heartfelt sympathy to them along with your younger siblings whom we know are also having it hard after the loss of Momma E and Ron but we know they are all united together again in the presence of The Almighty God and one day we'll all join them there. Thanks for the good times: We had a priceless childhood: one that'll never be forgotten "Little Man"! Until we meet again TTT
