On the evening of March 26th, Ed Purcell passed away suddenly as a result of a heart attack.  He was 59 years old.  Edward Thomas Purcell Jr. was born in Callicoon, New York on February 17, 1957.  He was the fourth child and second son of Edward and Billie Purcell of Barryville, New York.  Ed was a long time resident of Milton, New Hampshire.

Ed loved the outdoors and anything associated with it.  He loved to fish, hunt, and garden.  He was a detail-oriented mechanic and most recently worked at Key Auto.  His tough exterior hid a man with a big heart and the willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.  He cared more for others than himself.  His great love was his daughter Sarah, who was with him the evening he passed.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Sarah Purcell of Milton, New Hampshire, his sister Virginia Purcell of Freeport, Maine, his sister Kathy and husband Bruce Beard of Germantown, Tennessee, and his brother Jim Purcell and wife Kelly of Hyannis, Massachusetts.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Ed and Billie Purcell, older sister Margaret Purcell, and his younger brother, Timothy Purcell.

We will be having a small gathering this week to remember Ed and celebrate his life and will post when details are available.
