Edward Wayne Kendrick passed away at his home on January 29, 2023. He was born July 5, 1938 in Chelsea Alabama. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Liberty Baptist Church, Chelsea Alabama and officiated by Pastor Wayne Honeycutt and Dr. Timothy Cox.
Mr. Kendrick is survived by son Kenneth (Patsy), daughter Tammy Marshall, son Robert Tarwater Jr. (Shelia), and daughter Julie Wesson (Keith); sisters Marie Alverson, Barbara Alverson, and Wanda Moore (Robert); grandchildren Devin Blakely (David), Maegan Marshall (Blake), Katelyn Albritton (Anthony), Ashley Seritt (Jeff), Payton Cheeks (Jeremy), Brittney Tarwater, Erin Kendrick (Colin), Jordan Raines, Cody Kendrick and Justin Tarwater; great grandchildren Jayla, Trent, Cole, Hudson, Nora, Lela, Aubrey, Emmie, Ella, Sam, Presleigh and Lark. He was preceded in death by wife Patsy and wife Sherldean, parents A.A and Gladys Kendrick, sister Vida Jean Payne, and brothers A.J Kendrick and Jimmy Kendrick.
Mr. Kendrick was a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church and devoted many years of service there. He loved music and was talented at playing guitar, banjo and harmonica. He enjoyed picking and grinning with his buddies at various venues in Shelby and Talladega counties over the years. Mr. Kendrick loved getting together with his family and his eyes would light up in joy during those times. He loved to laugh and his laugh was infectious. He loved Alabama football and Braves baseball and enjoyed watching the games with his family. Mr. Kendrick was a great example of a truly good man and will be greatly missed.
