April 28, 1977 – May 5, 2017

Edward Gene Wills, beloved husband, father, uncle and brother, passed away suddenly on May 5, 2017.

Ed was born April 28, 1977, the only child of James and Karen (Armstrong) Wills in Payson, UT. Ed was raised in Payson and often went fishing and hunting with his dad in the scenic Utah mountains. Ed was an Eagle Scout and one of the youngest to receive the Order of the Arrow.

Ed married Jamie (Long) in 1995) in Payson, Utah. Together they had three children, Callie (Derek Peterson), Robyn, and Ian, of whom Ed was so proud and were the light of his life. Through lucky chance, Ed met and married the love of his life and best friend, Danielle Bass, on Valentines Day 2009.

Ed was a skilled welder, and in his spare time enjoyed writing, drawing, and making Celtic woodcarvings for people he cared about. Throughout his youth, he struggled with addiction, but in the past several years he was freed from those demons. Through his recovery, he developed a strong spiritual purpose and belief in God and in the goodness of others. He felt and lived what he believed was his moral duty to separate from negativity and accept and show kindness to people, wherever they were on their journey in life. In following his desire to help others, Ed was making plans to return to school to become a drug counselor, work he would’ve both loved and excelled at.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Danielle and his three children, his many siblings, nephews and nieces. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and two siblings.

In lieu of flowers, please show kindness and acceptance to others you encounter, and look for ways that you can help them.

Growing up with you was a blessing my kids will never know. You were there for me at times of struggle with advice only you could give cause you'd already walked the path I was on. Thank you for helping to save my life. I love you. You are surely missed.

New Gloves

April 28, 2020
I think of you often, wonder if your near, and thank you for the answer. A few weeks ago I had the chore of cleaning the tack shed out , going threw buckets of odds and ends I come across a pair of gloves plainly yours as each finger was marked with ED,I wondered how long they had been there, I know over 10 years. Little things mean so much. Thank you for the gloves and for saying hello. I miss you.      Your sister
