I called Edyth “LittleBit", but she packed a “bIg punch” when it came to Jehovah and her spiritual family. She was a spiritual mother to me and my son. I loved her for making us a part of that large spiritual family she had already. It was always room for more she would say. She always had good advice for me and she always had that laugh and smile when I would go visit. She would say, “did you bring me my brown pop.” She will be truly missed. Trudy and Terrill Eastman

To the Davis family: words cannot express the void left with our dear Sister's passing away. She was so animated with life and jubilation. She kept you on your toes with her candor and wit. There was never a dull moment in her company. Only Jehovah's promises will restore what has been lost. Titus 1:2. Charles & Carolyn Lett

My Dear Brother, I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. May Jehovah comfort you and be with you. The times I did her hair I could see how compassionate and loving she was, and the love she had for Jehovah and his organization. She certainly will be missed.
May Jehovah bless you and keep you strong while we all wait patiently for his promise to wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
Sincerely
With Love
My Brother

We will surely miss our dear Sister Edyth. We will always remember one of her favorite statements when we would ask how she was doing-"not bad for an old lady". Edyth was by far one of the sweetest people that we knew. We look forward to seeing her again really soon. Ronnie and Gary, We pray that Jehovah will wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you and your family. Agape'

Obituary for Edyth Davis

April 28, 2021
Edyth Virginia Davis was born in Macon, Georgia to Samuel Davis and Allo Mock on August 29, 1935.  She was the third of six children.  Edyth was educated in the Detroit Public School System.

On October 4, 1958, Edyth dedicated her life to Jehovah God and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  She raised her sons Ronnie and Gary in the truth.  Edyth helped many learn about Jehovah God.  Her wisdom and practical advice aided many of us to become spiritual people.  She loved the ministry and was able to serve as a Regular Pioneer for about 10 years.  During that time she spent more than 100 hours a month teaching people about Jehovah God and Bible truths.

Edyth worked for the State of Michigan for many years.  In her job position, she was always willing to assist any who came into the office.

Edyth or as most of us called her 'Miss Edyth' LOVED to travel.  She visited such places as South Africa, Greece, Prague, Czech Republic and Poland as a delegate attending Special and International Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses.  She also enjoyed cruising and visiting many cities in the United States.

Edyth loved to garden.  Her home always had beautiful flowers.  Always the consummate hostess, she adored entertaining family and friends.  Edyth was a very sharp dresser and although she was not 5 feet tall, she made her presence felt when she walked into a room with her brilliant smile.

Edyth Virginia Davis leaves to cherish her memory her two sons: Ronnie Davis and Gary Davis.  Older sister Alma (Ed) Greer, brother Julius (Brenda) Mock, one grandson Brandon and a host of nieces and nephews.  She also leaves many friends who loved and cherished her.

The family of Edyth Davis would like to thank everyone for all your kind words, prayers, meals, flowers, cards and support.

My auntie Edyth

Blood makes you related, but love makes you family! Their has never been a time when auntie Edyth was not in my life until now, and im lost!  My grandmother Octavia Ford and Edyth were best friends from grade school. I can't believe Edyth is gone, she taught me how to be a young lady, and how to walk in high heels, and proper english! I used to say" i aint doing this" I hear her right now, no no Tam Tam thats not a proper word, say it like this! We would pick fresh tomatoes and collard greens from her garden, go inside and cook them with extra hot sauce please! She made the best potato salad and neckbones ever!  I remember playing in her closet and putting on her high heels and they fit me, she had tiny feet. I had dinner at her house most Sundays and she let me drink from her crystal, and eat from her fine china we bougie, colt 45 all day! Vacations together and many shopping trips to Saks Fifth Avenue. The memories are endless for me, my heart is shattered! Edyth stayed faithful till the end so lets follow her example and stay close to Jehovah so we can have everlasting life! My deepest condolences to the Davis family I love you Ronnie and Gary! Cant wait to see you again it wont be long!! Love you always auntie Edtyh

Sister Davis

April 29, 2021
I met Edyth & Ronnie Davis in my first visit to the Cambridge Cong.  Little did I, know that it would be a lasting bond of friendship.  Sister Davis would come over in the morning with various friends for coffee and spiritually encouraging conversations.  Sister Davis would always ask me "when you getting Baptized?   After a good number of coffee visits and spiritual conversations of encouragement, I got Baptized.  Not only was Sister Davis spiritually encouraging, I found out she could encourage plants.  Let me explain.  I had a rose bush that never had a rose on it for a couple of years.  Sister Davis' tender loving care to that rose bush, in a couple of weeks it was heavy with beautiful roses.....Shortly we'll share a cup of coffee and spiritual conversations.   Waiting for that day, I'll have the coffee ready....

I met Sister Davis, Ronnie and Gar at McKenzie Congregatlon.  My family and her family were assigned to the same book study at Sister Hall’s.
That seems like a long time ago. My mom and sister Davis worked together at Social Service.  Years later they both were in the same Congregation at Cambridge.  My mom passed away in 2000.  How POWERFUL is the resurrection!!  Sherry Dawson.
