Effie Mae Daniels, Fondly referred to as Sis, Aunt Sis, Momma, Granny, Mother Daniels, and Suga Puddin’ peacefully passed away on December 17, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Effie was born April 11, 1934 in Sledge Mississippi to Howard and Correan (Lobley) Franks. She was the sixth of eight children.

In the early 1950’s Effie married LC Taylor. Their union lasted 28 years and produced 6 children; Lionel, Bernard, Diane, Aaron Lewis, Winfred, and Gregory-Scott. Their family was the first African American family to integrate the city of Kettering in the late 1960’s.

Effie was also a lifelong member of the Church of God Sanctified, where she served in fellowship under Bishop John H. Buffington. Here she made lifelong friendships and they raised their families together.  Effie truly possessed a servant's heart. She made sure to extend love, hugs, food or shelter for anyone in need. On May 5th, 1984 Effie married Vernon L. Daniels at Faith Deliverance Church of God in Christ.Where they both became members and she served on the mother and usher board.  Effie has always played a very full and active role in the lives of those who called her Granny.

She was a very fun, loving, outgoing, and creative spirit. You’d often catch her singing, painting her ceramics, sewing or cooking. In her golden years Effie also worked as a senior companion where she often taught her grand and great grands about her compassionate service.

She was definitely known for being an amazing cook and her Peach Cobbler is considered to be the best you’ll ever have. Her infectious laugh and knee slap followed by “Oh me “will always be remembered and terribly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents the late Howard and Correan Frank,  Her late husband Vernon L. Daniels, husband from previous marriage LC Taylor, Siblings SD, Nemroy, MD, Richard and Iziah Franks.

She is survived by her siblings Richard lee, and Louise Johnson, loving children Lionel C Taylor, Bernard Lee Taylor, Diane (Derrell) Edwards, Aaron Lewis Taylor, Winfred Taylor, Gregory (Denise) Taylor. Grandchildren- Lonista Christine, Lolita (Lionel) Lavender (Sherrie), Angela (Michael) Shepard, Chantal Marie, Eric James,  Lenita Janae, Lenita Nicole, Gregory Scott Jr, Great Grands- Paires Chrishaun, Laniya Christine, A’Quis Michael Christian, Anthony D. 3rd, Judiah, Sirai, Arrington, Josiah and Jaia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My prayers are with the Taylor family during these difficult days. Although Cousin Sis was married to my dad's cousin, she was like an aunt to me and my siblings. She was our babysitter and was always kind and caring. I know that she will be missed by all. Rest well Cousin Sis!

What do you say about the one responsible for bringing you into this world besides THANK YOU. Momma you laid the foundation for me to seek truth and purpose in pursuing God .And giving my life to Him before I became a teenager. You always seem to have some type of anecdote for whatever problem I presented to you. If I called you before school complaining of sickness or aches. You'd say do this,  this and this and hurry so that you won't miss the school bus. You always knew when I was really sick or feigning aches. ( to this day I don't know what magic you possessed to discern me). Yet you treated me special when I was really sick. Despite the fact you had 5 other chidren. I can sincerely say I KNEW I was loved by you ma. You also in your loving way taught me how to go from reluctantly wanting to sing at church. Now I look forward to singing in the house of the Lord with gladness. My own 2 children enjoyed going to " granny's " house ESPECIALLY when you cooked that lip smacking peach cobbler. YES LAWD it was deeeeeeeeelicious. I could go on & on. But to limit to A story for one as special as you are mom. It's impossible to do. I will forever miss you and apply the godly principles that you taught us your kids and grands and great grands.❤❤❤❤
