Mom, as we remember you on your birthday. We feel blessed having had the privilege of having you as a mother in our lives all those years. Yes, you stepped off the journey to rest and we understand, death leaves a headache no one can heal but we are so glad that love leaves a memory that no one can steal. We are also keeping comfort in knowing that there are things that death cannot touch.

Mom, when I visited home in May, I kept searching and searching I couldn't find you, I was told you are somewhere around God's throne. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

This is my second Christmas without you Mom.
On Christmas Eve, we were the only two left at home.
I would be baking, frying the fish and pot roasting the beef and chicken.
Today, the fish is already done. I have pot roasted pork for Jeff. The mutton will be curried in the morning.
I miss you at Christmas!

It's a New Year

January 6

Mom, it's the first time since your passing, we truly celebrated Christmas. We cooked this Christmas! Lots of food and many meats on the menu. Just like you always did, just as it used to be even when you couldn't do it.
Storm is over, but a new storm is brewing. A new year with new expectations and new problems.

Christmas

I wanted to be home this Christmas to wash the crockery in the cabinet, to change the table cloth and put on that Christmas table cloth and to put up the Christmas lights.
I did go home but none of those were done as I reached home late.
I missed you and I remembered you so much!
You would keep my company when I am in the kitchen doing the last minute baking, frying fish, pot roasting beef, roasting chicken. You were my little trooper! You used to stay awake just to keep my company. Eils, Old girl, I really miss you!
