My mother, Obong Awang Adiaahaette Bassey Mama as we fondly called her was an angel in a human form, she had the sweetest human spirit.

Mama was not just God fearing, God was her only source, her beginning and her end. she was honest to a fault, her children both biological and adopted were all she lived for. She had no differentiation, she loved equally. I am sure she had no space in her heart for hatred.

She was a beautiful soul, all of my life I have never heard my mother quarrel with any one or ever spoke a bad word or cursed anyone. when I think of my mother the song " there is a sweet sweet spirit in this place" by Bill & Gloria Gaither, comes to mind.

I will miss my mother all the days of life, the only pay back for this wonderful woman is when my roll is called on yonder it will be said that " I had a sweet spirit like my mother'

Sweet sleep mama!!! you now live daily in my heart.
