portrait of mom by almost famous Chicago photographer
Lionel Heymann retired in 1964 after 40 years of photographic work. Mom probably had this made while he was at the Blackstone Hotel studio in Chicago. After a little online research I found out that Lionel was an accomplished art photographer (including nudes and architecture) plus an educator... although he claimed to be a waiter on government forms. His art work is still sold today through auction houses.
He found a pretty model here!

Some Family Time (1979)
Both Grandma Clara and Grandpa Henry were visiting from Iowa. Mom and Dad were in their first or second year of owning American Passenger Travel Agency. I don't remember what the occasion was to bring Uncle George and Aunt Mary to town. Their youngest son, Matt, looks about 7 years old. This photo was made by me (Michael) outside of the travel agency which was located in a hotel lobby, just minutes from Houston's Intercontinental Airport.
I remember Elaine fondly. She was always smiling and enjoying life. It always made me happy to be with her. May God give you peace.
