Elaine and I were two of the "fab four" in high school along with Paula and Diane. We laughed and teased our way through our junior and senior years when Elaine picked us up each morning. I have the most wonderful memories of Elaine's endearing smile and twinkling eyes. She was honestly one of the "cutiest" people I have ever known. My heart felt sympathies to her beloved.

I first met Elaine in high school, where her gentle smile & unfailing kindness made that period of incarceration easier to bear, & I have no doubt that whatever world she has moved on to is a brighter & better place due to her presence.

I have only known Elaine for 4 months since I started working with her at Belk. I use to tease her when she would come to work in an all the way up right position, I would tell her she must have had a good day because she was standing tall :). Elaine cut up all the time with me, she was fun. She was sweet and well liked by many as I saw everytime she worked. Elaine will be missed.

I will never forget Mrs. Elaine and how we always cut up she will dearly be missed at lowe's. I loved her like my own mother and always look forward to seeing here there. I told her many times to stop working two jobs but she was a strong woman and she always worried about everyone else other than her self. She would always have a smile on her face even though she was in pain. Miss you.

It's sad to see such a wonderful person go but now she is no longer in pain. She was a pleasure to talk to at work and she always had a smile on her face even though we knew she was in pain. She used to tell the cashiers at Lowe's the story of our first time meeting each other, she would tell it like it was a comedy show. I'll definitely miss her around!! God bless her family and friends.

Such a beautiful soul indeed. I have such fond memories of growing up with you all. Elaine always made me feel safe, loved and right at home. I still giggle when I think of those Krispy Kreme donut runs and the epic birthday dozen she gave me one year. I wish I had told her more often what a positive impact she had on my life. I love you Elaine!

We are so sad that mom won't be around to enjoy her retirement after working so hard. We are relieved that she is at peace now and not in pain. We will miss her greatly and keep her spirit alive through stories and loving memories. She was a beautiful soul who unfortunately, never realized just how wonderful she really was. You are loved, Elaine!

Grammy

December 4, 2012

I am so grateful for the impromptu visit Elaine made to see her granddaughters, Sadie (age 7) and Harper (age 4), about two weeks ago. The girls were thrilled to see Grammy at the door and immediately convinced her she needed to look like a princess. Make up was applied (with heavy hands) all over Grammy's face and her hair received what appeared to be a vigorous stirring - all amid much laughter and giggles. Grammy only put her foot down with an affirmative "No" when Harper attempted to put various colors of glitter glue in her hair. "But Grammy, you need more sparkle ..."

With Elaine's busy schedule this visit was rare and now is especially poignant knowing it was the last. The girls had such fun that day and now can carry that happy memory always.

Good Memories

December 3, 2012

Hi Farrah,

I am sorry for your loss. I only have fond memories of your Mother  when we were all young and you were a baby or a twinkel in her eye. We always looked forward to spending time with her and Fred. She was a wonderful person.

With Love,

Henry Hardy
