This is the beginning of a new day.

God has given me this day to use as I will.

I can waste it or use it for good.

What I do today is important, because I'm exchanging

a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,

leaving something I had traded for it.

I want it to be gain, not loss; good, not evil; success, not failure;

in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it.

I can no longer grieve cause you are free.

I can no longer cry  cause you are with me.

God came in and you heard Him call,

It left many tears from us all.

I know you couldn't stay another day,

To smile, to love, to work or play.

The things you did left a spot in my heart,

I know it's hard since we, are far apart.

You shared a laugh, a hug, a kiss.

The memorieswe had, I will dearly miss.

I hear your words: " Be strong, just try,

Cause Granddaddy doesn't like to see you cry. "

So thank you, thank you for raising me,

You are " MY HERO " and let this be.

I will see you in Paradise, where you'll rest eternally !

Early Life

  Elder Wilson attended Windsor Public Schools and graduated from W. S. Etheridge High School. He completed Harris Barber College. While cultivating a love for all sports, his love was baseball. He formed the Windsor Bees. Elder Wilson was sought after by many to play in the Negro Minor Professional Baseball League; however his mother did not allow him to pursue this dream. She knew that her son had a higher calling. He served in the Unites States Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss El Paso, Texas.

Later Life

  Elder Wilson was an outstanding husband, father, and pastor. He married his high school sweetheart, Missionary Annie Lue Wilson. This devoted man of God and his lovely bride were married and in love fifty - five magnificent years. Being raised in a Christian home, Elder Wilson joined Washington Temple Church of God In Christ in Brooklyn, New York under the leadership of the late Bishop Fredrick D. Washington. During his tenure at Washington Temple, he eas called to the ministry. Upon returning to North Carolina, he was ordained by the late Bishop L. B. Davenport, Jurisdictional Bishop of the Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction on Frbruary 27, 1976. He joined Pentecostal Temple Church of God In Christ; and he served as Associate Minister until 1998 under the leadership of Bishop LeRoy Jackson Woolard. On June 9, 1999, Elder Wilson was officially named pastor of the Church. He served twelve years.

Survivors

  Elder Mildren L. Wilson's life will continue to be celebrated by: his loving and devoted wife, Missionary Annie Wilson; his daughter, Brenda Bazemore; his son Dennis Wesson (Teresa); grandsons, Trikell Heckstall (Tiffony), Terrance Bazemore, and Rashad Askew; greatgrand, Tyra Heckstall, Shamiah Grissom, and Rashard Hillard; numerous GOD CHILDREN; brother, Willie Wilson of Windsor, North Carolina; sisters, Dr Annie Beard of Richmond, Texas, Martha Owens, Georgia Wells of Philiadelphia, Pennsylvania; in - laws, Evelyn Wilson of Greensboro, North Carolina; Fannie and Charles Wesson, Alberta Wesson of Windsor, North Carolina, and Warren Walton of Lewiston, North Carolina; a host of DEVOTED neices, nephews, cousins, friends, and members of the Househols of Faith.

  Some people leave an inheritance when they pass; others, a legacy; Pastor Mildren Lee Wilson left behind; thus our inheritance and legacy will forever be The Pursuit of Excellence !
