Welcome!

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Elder Adeyemi Bello, 77, born on July 20, 1936 and passed away on September 27, 2013. We will remember him forever.

He is survived by his wife, Deaconess Abimbola Adeyemi Bello, his children, grandchildren, adopted children, and extended family and loved ones.

Elder Adeyemi Bello lived and thrived as an educator and has left behind a long lasting legacy.

His attitude towards life was to put God first in everything he did,  hence he served God unashamedly and brought up his children as such.

Take a moment to celebrate him with your fondest memories.....

Eight years since you left behind the corruptible for the incorruptible my darling father. I am looking ahead with peace and joy in my heart, praying that I make heaven and see you again one day. Thank you for giving yourself and believing so much in me, my siblings, and the youth around you. Daddy the testimonies abound about the lives you touched! I pray that my life and the lives of those coming after me remain useful to God and humanity. Continue to rest at the bosom of your Lord and savior Aba mi ayiye. You are always in my heart.

Daddy do you know that God has a sense of humor and that nothing we do ever goes unrewarded? I recently started a role that gives me oversight of the faculty in residence at my place of work. I find it fascinating because some of my favorite memories of you were the ways you labored and cared for your students as a residential administrator at Ado Grammar School and Christ’s School. Mommy also cared for the students as if they were hers. I am humbled that I get to carry on the torch. May God watch over the ones you left behind.
I carry your letters with me every where..There are tons of them but I hide a few here and there just as a keepsake. I recently came across one you wrote in 2006 telling me that I’m in your prayers for a better job...it was so timely to find as I was transitioning between jobs. It was such a powerful experience and I remember closing my office door and having a moment.
Happy posthumous birthday Aba Bello, you would have been 83 today. I guess all I’m trying to say is that I stopped by today to thank you for a legacy of service and a life of faith, your memory is blessed. Love and miss you very much. I’m so grateful for this platform to celebrate your memory from time to time. I’ll find a way to celebrate you today with my family.

Aba Bello! There are no words..only gratitude to God. The older I get, the more I love early mornings and the more I honor the early morning principles you and Mommy instilled in us. The morning prayers, your whistling while getting ready for the day, your habit of playing the same cassette every morning. You were disciplined with time and the older I get the more I appreciate that about you. I celebrate a landmark birthday this year..your baby is getting older and hopefully wiser by God's grace. Remember that prophecy on May 13th 2006? well God is at work on it. May your generation be blessed and be a blessing. Thank you for pouring yourself into the youth that came your way. May God visit your seeds of faith upon your own seed. I've been fine all day but writing this...I've become sober..but all is well and I'm at peace in Christ my savior. Sleep on Oga Nathaniel! the original Uncle B. See you at the feast of the saints. Your daughter - Oluwaseun Opeyemi Oluwafunke

Warden Bello,

"You were such a great man. I dont really know if writing my tribute on this page will ever be sufficient to repay what you have done in my life between 1990 and 1994 as student under your tutelage in Christ's School Ado Ekiti. I feel indebted to you and I doubt if i will be able to repay.
As a Chartered Accountant today, I looked back, and I am so sure, I would not have gone this far, if not for guidance, early rebuke and chastisement from you. Aba Bello, thank you very much. We will forever remain grateful for the impact you made in our lives. Sun re ooo...."

Papa "Warden" Bello was indeed a great Father, Guardian and Educator! He took care of us all as his. He was amiable, tough, yet approachable. He was loved by all. He could not be faulted. He was able to balance his personality well. He was feared, yet he was loved. I would rather be in Papa Bello's trouble than anyone else's. Amiable man. Funny and likeable. He shall be sorely missed.

Daddy is gone but he left with me some sweet memories that will stay with me forever. His humours and jokes, his neat dress ups, his composure, his agility, tricks and smartness when outwitting dangerous students, his antics and theatrics and his big laughs. These I will always remember. When he laughs, his whole body does and you too will surely laugh. Angels are laughing with him now.

I only saw him once in person since I left Christ's School 19 years ago. But I am bold to say that his words, his jokes and humours, his tricks and smartness in catching dangerous students, his methods of disciplining error prone students, and his big laughs....these are what will stay with me forever. When he laughs, his whole body does and you too will laugh. That, I will miss. RIP.

I witnessed this incident between Daddy Bello and a classmate of mine caught red handed in an act that warranted the presence of his parents or guardians. They conversed in Ekiti dialect and it is a pity that the flavour of their conversation is 90% lost in English language. Daddy B: You will go home now Student: Sorry sir..... Daddy B: Go and bring your dad Student: He is dead sir Daddy B: Your mum? Student: She is dead too Daddy B: Your uncles or aunts? Student: They are all dead sir Daddy B: So...who are you with? Student: My Great-grandma sir Daddy B: Why not your Grandma? Student: She died when I was a baby. Daddy B: Ok, go and bring your Great-grandma then. Student: She is blind sir Daddy B: Hold her hand and walk her Student: She is lame sir, can't walk Daddy B: Alright, you give me no choice then. Get in the car, we will go and see her as I must talk with her. Student: She is deaf and dumb sir.... The warden after a pause just bursted into a long big laugh and the boy was told to just go away. That laughing session was priceless and it is one of the things that I will remember of daddy. RIP.

HE WAS FAIR, CARING AND FULL OF LOVE

October 14, 2013

He was my principal in Bobas High School, I was also a member of staff under him in the same school before I finally lived with him as a father. While in school, as the chapel prefect, I was in charge of his office key to ensure that the office is properly cleaned and safe. Usually, the principal is given lunch in the school. As student in the boarding school, the plates of food served then could not meet our growing demand, I always found solace in the principal's plates of food because he would always call me to eat the remaining portion.

On this fateful day, I was eagerly waiting for the principal to call me while going home to lock the door and to clear the table as usual, which he did. But to my surprise, he also called a lady who came and clear the table and you know what that means.

Living with Elder Bello was one of the greatest things that happened to me. An adage say, 'if you want to go far in life, it's better to go on your kneels'. Elder Bello thought me to always go on my kneels and it is paying off for me today.

He thought me to always keep to time, to be diligent and to accept responsibilities joyfully.

I cannot but appreciate God for his well spent life and the opportunity given me to benefit from his wealth of experience and his discipline; I pray that the deceased sleeps on in the bosom of his Lord till we meet to part no more.
