Eleanor Anne Huacuja, 94 years in age, passed into the heavenly realm Sunday, January 21, 2024. Loving family members were with her as she made the transition.Eleanor Huacuja was born in 1929 in Cushing Oklahoma, raised seven children in Houston, Texas, enjoyed life and family in New Mexico for a number of years, and spent her final years, again with family, in Dayton, Ohio. 
Preceding Eleanor in death are her children Susan Lafuente, Julie Huacuja, and Joseph Huacuja. Surviving children include Kathy Tewart (and spouse Brad), Debbie Huacuja, Judith Huacuja (and spouse David), and William Huacuja. Eleanor’s loving grandchildren include Gilbert Alarcon, Misty Huacuja-LaPointe (spouse Brent), Michelle Maldonado (spouse Diego), Tessa Berry (spouse Doug), Jolene Huacuja (partner Richard), and Navarre Alarcon. Eleanor’s adoring great-grandchildren include Maddie LaPointe, Annaliese Berry, Gibson Alarcon, and Logan Berry.
Eleanor has joined her siblings William Kelley Jr and James Kelley in eternal rest.Eleanor Huacuja worked as a key punch operator during much of her life, painted and spent time with family in retirement, and supported the diverse indigenous and Hispanic communities of Albuquerque. Donations in her memory can be made to the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission & School.
Family will gather for a memorial service in her honor in New Mexico in July 2024.

Animal Spirits [a rooster walked into our yard in South Park, Dayton, and immediately adopted Mom in 2015.  And, Mom was a constant guardian for the squirrels.]
Rooster - courage, honest, physical and moral fortitude.
Rooster never gives up.
At the herald of dawn, rooster gives you hope.
Rooster draws good luck, prosperity, and over-all good health.
Rooster helps you be. potent protector who keeps negative energies and evil away from your aura.
Squirrel - practical, teaches us to be practical.
