A short Biography of Pa Dr. Elias Konwufine
(August 25th, 1974 – January 16th, 2013)
Pa Dr. Elias Ngedle Konwufine (aka Dr. K) was born on August 25th, 1974 to Pa John Konwufine and Mama Julia Bih in Awing. After attending primary school at PS Awing, he went to secondary school at PSS Mankon, followed by high school in CPC Bali. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the International Institute of Higher Education (Rabat, Morocco), he moved to the US in 2000 where he successively earned three higher degrees:
MBA in international business from Johnson and Wales University (Providence, RI) - 2000.
Doctor of Business Administration in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University Fort Lauderdale, FL - 2009.
Doctor of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL – 2004.
Since 1996, Dr. K has held high-level administrative and academic positions in at least 9 institutions located in Cameroon and the US. Prominent among these are:
Vice President, Academic Affairs - American InterContinental University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Dean of Business, Graduate School, Keiser University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Program Director, Business Administration Programs, Keiser University, Ft. Lauderdale FL.
President – Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society, Keiser University.
Finance & Business faculty, Keiser University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Several faculty positions in accounting and finance at the following universities: Strayer University Online, University of Phoenix – Axia College, SOUTH University Online Savannah, GA, Touro University International Online (Cypress, California), Florida Metropolitan University (Pompano, FL), and University of Douala, Cameroon.
In spite of Dr. K’s deep involvement in academia, he has also been the patriarch (hence the “Pa” title) of the Konwufine clan since 1999 and is a major community leader, especially in the Awing Community. He has served as NACDA-Florida Branch President, NACDA-North America Treasurer, AEEF Board of Directors member, Co-Coordinator of GSS-Aziane development project, and Coordinator of three Fon’s (King of Awing, Cameroon) Mobility projects.
Dr. K. will be especially remembered for his generosity, student advocacy/mentorship abilities, and capacity to reach out to all of humankind. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Francisca, daughter Lourdes (10), son Lyndon (7), son Liam (14 months), and several brothers/sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, …
