Elise Testa, loving mother of her only child, and widow of her late husband Roland, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Friday July 8th after courageously battling complications of a stroke. Elise was born in December of 1954 in Newark, NJ to her loving parents and older brother, Patrick. She grew up surrounded by her family and her Aunt, and met her future husband all while up in Newark, where they got married in 1982 and opened up a deli together. Elise was a very caring woman, especially for her family and friends, and her dogs. As a mother, she always made sure she did everything that she could for her son so that he was well taken care of, and she loved her dogs so much, in her later years she went into a business of dog walking and sitting. In her free time, Elise loved to go to the beach and riding her bike. She liked to collect strawberry and dolphin items, and in some places around the community, she was known as "The Purple Lady", as everything had to be purple for her. Elise passed surrounded by her family and friends.
You will be missed mom, but I know you'll be watching over us with dad and all of our dogs through the years.
Elise is survived by her son, Matthew, her older brother Patrick, her two nieces Samantha and Marisa, and Marisa's son Forest. For anyone that would like to say their final goodbye, there will be a service on Wednesday, July 13th at 11:30 am-12:30 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home, after which she will be laid to rest with her late husband at the William C Doyle Memorial Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
