ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Elizabeth Bakare, 68, born on October 22, 1948 and went to rest with the Lord on April 8, 2017. We will remember her forever.

Liz, as she was known, lived a life dedicated to God and to her family. Her kindness, devotion, wisdom and wit will be truly missed.

A Service of Thanksgiving in Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, 27th of April at 11am at the Shaftesbury Christian Centre, where Liz enjoyed many years worshipping with her church family and serving the community.

Through her family, faith, and career of service, Liz touched and inspired so many from all around the world. Although everyone who knew her and loved her won't be able to attend her Celebration of Life Service, we hope that you can share a memory or message on this memorial page.

For those who would like to make a contribution in her memory, a giving site has been set up to benefit FoodBank, a cause that Liz was deeply involved in, please click here: https://my.give.net/shaftesbury

Although donations to FoodBank are preferred, those who would prefer to instead send flowers for the service, please send directly to the funeral director (adress below) to arrive by Wednesday, April 26th. One online florist option can be found by clicking here: https://www.prestigeflowers.co.uk/

Our dear friend Liz we miss you so
And mourning your passing two years ago.
We still can't believe that you're not here
To share your wisdom, a joke or a tear.
We so miss your laughter and your fun
And the times we prayed together as one.
We think of your family that you did so adore
Who must be missing you so much more.
For them dear Lord we remember to pray
We ask for your peace to touch them this day.
Thank you dear Liz for each memory
And your Trouble with a capital T !!!
(Missing you always) ❤️

It is nearly a year since Liz is face to face with a God and saviour she loved, worshipped and served. I've got used to her not arriving on her bike but there are still echoes of her laughter around the church building. There are times during a worship service when I am expecting that Liz will come to the front to impart her wisdom, encourage and give out a challenge.
We have no idea how many lives she impacted through her work and everyday life. I had the privilege of sharing outings, holidays and special days. They were always times of fun and laughter but could also be times of serious discussion.
I've got used to her not being in the kitchen, oven gloves on with a tray in her hand but I will never forget the impact she has had on my life.
Thank you Liz for showing us how the broken can be healed and set free and for your dediction to God and your family.

I remember how you took time from your already busy life to take me to Canada Water; to not only choose a bike, but also ride with me as I rode it back home. I'm sure that degree of kindness was replicated in many other lives too.

Over the years, I've loved your laughter, teasing, fun; including your being able to laugh at yourself as well. And I've loved the way you could bring a deep spiritual truth in a humorous way, like; "Remember, you're more than a 'conker' (conqueror)!" {Romans 8:37}. Funnily enough, both are true. Made me laugh every time.

You were consistently wise in your approach to God's word, and in relationships with others.

True, I can't speak to, touch and see you now. But, I marvel to know that you're now home with our heavenly Daddy: full, blessed, and very much alive.

I feel so blessed and privileged to have known you, dear Liz. Enjoy your new home my friend.

Love,
Celena

Elizabeth - Wow! what an amazing woman of God you were , what a beautiful family you leave behind . Your service was one of sadness but also joy , knowing you are at peace in Glory with our Heavenly Father but knowing the world has lost a true gem of a person , you touched so many lives . As I heard about your life today in the tributes made , I prayed that I too might take your example and live life to the full knowing the richest gift I need in life is to know Jesus is Lord in my life and serve him , my family , my friends and my church . Rest in peace beautiful Elizabeth , your laughter and smile will be missed forever but the legacy of the love you shared with everyone you came into contact with will always remain in their lives . Our love Debbie and Colin Collino

What a beautiful soul.... You will be extremely missed.
The care and love shown to all is something we all strive for but for you it came natural.
Your time with us seemed so very short but not one minute wasted.
It was a pleasure to have spent time with you.
You are deeply loved and will remain in our hearts forevermore.

May great peace settle within the hearts of the family. Love you all!
