Elizabeth Gail Elwell was born March 20th, 1969 in Belfast, Maine.  She was the youngest child of Ruby Burkeen Elwell and Edward Elwell.  She attended schools in Belfast and Northport.  She graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1987.  God and family were the two most important aspects of her life.   
While still in high school , she was a disc jockey for WBME in Belfast Maine.  After high school  she worked in the health care field and later sold real estate for Clark Real Estate.
At age 17 she was diagnosed with Cardio Pulmonary Hypertension.  A rare condition with no known cure at the time.  Eventually, her doctors decided she must have a lung transplant.  The nearest  hospital that could perform a transplant was Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York city.
