Miss you so much Ellie. I still think and talk about you all the time at the restaurant where I currently work. The example you set lives on continually in the impact you made on all of us who were fortunate enough to call you a friend. What a blessing it was to know and learn from you. I will never forget the time that I tried to take the ice bucket out of your hand and the look you gave me; that was when I knew you were an entirely different caliber of restaurant owner and employer. You were a friend and a coworker, an equal at all times, and you set an example that I continue to hold and live by. I miss you so much my dear friend, rest well until your next adventure.

My sweet Ellie!
Sometimes I think about how much you loved Swedish fish. Or how you hated when people called you “ma’am” and it was a really hard habit for me to kick. Your generosity, your ability to handle all the things, all of your support for everyone around you.
These memories of you bring such a smile to my face, they make me so thankful to have been part of the community you built around you. Missing your fierce awesomeness always, my friend.

I was heartbroken to hear that Ellie had passed. I am the Founder of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville and have considered Ellie a friend over the years and an avid supporter of our work. For the past ten years, she has always figured out a way to help us further our work for the animals by holding fundraisers, donating gift cards, and letting us keep a donation box on her counter. She has ran in our 5k several times with her sweet doggie- and damn! They were so fast! I never knew she was sick. She was always so vibrant and upbeat. I will miss her smile. When our sanctuary is open, we will create a tribute for her. She deserved it. Much love to her family and friends grieving her loss right now...

I am so sad to hear this news, and my heart goes out to all who loved her and were loved by her! Ellie was one of the first strong, adventuresome female role models that I met on the Chattooga River. I remember being in awe of her finesse and fortitude, and generous spirit. I have no doubt that she carried these attributes to the end. She was one-of-a-kind!

Oh Ellie how I miss your smile, your sweet voice, and your sense of humor. The years spent alongside you at Doc Chey's were truly a blessing, and there will never be another quite like you. I hope you are enjoying the next grand adventure the Universe has in store for you. Thank you for giving us the gift of your life, we will never stop loving you.
