Elma J. Pugh was born September 26, 1940.
She was the daughter of Mr. Samuel and Cora B.
Wright in Heard County Georgia. She spent very
little time in Georgia after the death of her father.
She moved with her mother to Detroit Michigan to
live with one of her brothers. She completed her
education in Detroit Michigan. It was there that she met her husband Oddis Pugh and was married November 7, 1959. Since jobs were limited, they moved to New York. Their only child, Yolonda was born there.
She was employed by AT&T until she
retired and moved to Tuskegee, Alabama in 1991.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved the
Lord and dearly loved all her friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her
daughter, Yolonda Watson, two granddaughters,
Talisha and Andrea, and one grandson, Jamal all of
Marietta, GA; she has three great grandchildren,
Jasmine, Chantel and Dallas, Jr. of Marietta, GA;
she has four sisters, Ora Collier of Heflin, AL,
Catherine Glanton of Southfield, MI, Corrie Bowers
of Detroit, MI, and Esther Wilton of Seattle, WA; she
has one brother, Charlie Wright also of Seattle, WA;
she has four sister-in-laws, Lottie Wright of
Belleville, MI, Ruby Crawford and Maggie Cadney
both of Birmingham, AL, and Callie Finch of
Baltimore, MD; she has three brother-in-laws, Otis
Penick of Cleveland, OH, Thomas Penick and Henry
Penick both of Birmingham, AL; one devoted aunt,
Lillian Pugh of Union Springs, AL; she also leaves
many nieces, nephews, cousins and several specials
friends and neighbors (from New York and
Alabama) - also her special friends, Mary Wallace of
Port St. Lucie, FL, Edna Collier of Marietta, GA, and
Ruby Fowler and Martha Ervin both of New York.
We all will miss her!
