Eloise Currin Grissom Newton, 89, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away, Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Coventry House in Oxford.
She was born May 24, 1929 in Granville County to the late Ralph Ansel Currin and Mary Lee Hobgood Currin. Eloise was a faithful member of Enon Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, a Sunday School Teacher and worked with the Shut-in Ministry. She retired from Murdoch Center with thirty years of service as an LPN and also worked at Granville Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, March 29, 2019 at Enon Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Brown and Rev. Jim Shelley. Entombment will follow the service at Meadowview Memorial Park.
Surviving are her brother, Col David Currin USAF (RET) and wife Micki of Monument, CO; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by husbands, Jack Grissom and Stewart Newton; a sister, Sophia Currin Daniel and a brother, Sidney Taylor Currin.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:45 PM Friday, March 29, 2019 in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
