Elsie Carter Gordon, 95, a resident of 200 Coventry Drive, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Brantwood Nursing Center.
 
A native of Wilson County, the widow of Walter S. Gordon and the daughter of the late Frank W. and Elsie Griffin Carter. She was a member of Banks United Methodist Church and was retired.
 
 
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Banks United Methodist Church by Rev. Cliff Wall. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Reich of Oxford, three sons, Stephen Gordon of Fairview, Tennessee, Sidney Gordon of Creedmoor, Julian Gordon of Mont Belvieu, Texas, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
 
Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M., Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and other times at 2569 Highway 56, Creedmoor, North Carolina 27522.

I deeply regret that I cannot participate in Ms. Elsie's memorial service, as you requested. My visits with Ms. Elsie were very special. She always received me with grace, kindness, and hospitality. She enriched my life, and I will treasure memories of her forever.
