My (great), aunt Elva. It's been almost two months since she's gone to be with her Savior. I have many fond memories from my childhood, driving, with my dad and mom, from Philadelphia while visiting my grandma, Mary Arcidiacono, at her little row-house on Mountain St., out to the country and the 30 acre truck-farm my great grandpa Cavallo, bought and worked in the 1930's and '40's and left to his son, my great uncle Sam, (my grandma Mary's Arcidiacono's brother). My aunt Elva was the only blonde and blue eyed Italian I'd ever seen and the only Sicilian with a Dutch maiden name(chuckle). She was sweet and kind and gentle and loved us whenever we came to visit. I have many fond memories of our visits there. The most memorable is a visit one Summer when the cherry tree near her kitchen window was heavy with cherries. Aunt Elva let us pick and eat cherries to our hearts content but gently stopped us before we made ourselves sick. My little face and hands were stained red for hours afterward. The cherry tree was gone much too soon and now, so is my aunt Elva. I love you aunt Elva and miss you. Thank you for all the love and hospitality you showed us over the years. Rest in Christ until we meet again.
