Our thoughts and Prayers are with the Finley/Drake families as you mourn the loss of Elzirah, a friend and Church member for many years. One who always had a kind word for and about everyone. Elzirah will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of being in her company. In just a little while we will all meet again around the throne of God and the Lamb. Keep the faith. Pride Family.

Mrs. Finley Drake has a wonderful legacy passed down from DNA (Jesus) to DNA (Her Family.) When feeling down, lonely and depressed Jesus hears, feels, and Knows you. My Aunt truly lived a full impactful life. Aunt Elzirah, her sister, her mother and the other relative some who are resting and waiting for the trumpets to sound were responsible for me being introduced to Christianity and Adventist.  Her continuous patience, love, cheerfulness and means made it possible for me to have a Christian education. Since then I went on to capture other accomplishments. Without Aunt Elzirah I would still be on the streets of California (in the Garden) running from the Lord. I hope to continue til Jesus comes, what my relatives made possible for me to obtain. I believe I will see her soon and hope all who read this will see her in GLORY one day. Hold on Christ is coming sooner than we might think. Uncle Mid, Joe and John you are in our prayers and God is closer to you now.

Dear John, Elivirita, Mr. Drake and family,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you. Your mom, aunt and especially your wife was very instrumental for me when we were all growing up. This is hard! She was a wonderful person, I will miss her terribly. May God grant you comfort and peace that only HE can give. We will see her again!

I have known the Finley-Drake family for many years. They are all like family to me. Elzirah and her twin sister were both extraordinary women, to say the least. Its truly a blessing and honor to have known the twins. Now these two angels are together again.

As a young family, new to the Birmingham area many years ago, we were warmly and lovingly embraced by the Drake/Finley family. It is hard to talk about Sister Drake without talking about her wonderful twin. Sister Drake and her sister, Sis. Finley, Sr. we're some of the most impressive people I have ever met. Loving, kind, so very intelligent, great story tellers, great teachers, lovers of young people, and great historians are just a few of their many attributes. They were beautiful people and they always seemed so much younger that their age.

Many times, when there was a storm in our area, Sister Drake would call to see if we were safe and needed anything. She often would call just to see how we were doing. Her ready smile, and gentle spirit were a blessing to everyone who knew her. She will be missed. Our prayers are with her family for comfort and strength. May we be encouraged as we get ready, and wait for that great getting up morning! What a day of rejoicing that will be!

Greetings and condolences to our Finley-Drake family,
As personal physician to Sister Elzirah Zipporah Finley-Drake over two decades ago, I was always embarrassed and humbled by her saying I helped save her life back then. I only loved and respected her, as the Lord instructed me. And now this beautiful, sweet Saint rests with God, until all our labor and trials are over when we will see the King. And although she will be sorely missed, we would not be so selfish as to wish her back into this world. Not here. Know that our prayers are with the Finley-Drake family that was so blessed to experience her daily presence. May we all be prepared to see her again in her immortal state in the presence of Christ.

Blessings,
