In Remembrance

Emil G. Karau passed away in November, 2017 in Cottonwood, Arizona following a long and rich life filled with achievement, creativity, service, commitment to family and friends, and kindness and consideration for others. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Karlene (Goldbach) Karau, originally from Marshfield, Wisconsin. He is also survived by his son Steven Karau, who resides in Illinois, and daughter Christine (Karau) Broehm, who resides in Northern Arizona. Christine and son-in-law Douglas Broehm also blessed Emil and Karlene with four grandchildren: Jesse, Alicia, Robert, and Matthew, as well as multiple grandchildren.
Emil was born in 1936 to Emil Karau (senior) and Minnie (Below) Karau in the small town of Spencer, Wisconsin where he was raised with older brothers Norbert and Ralph, older sisters Deloris and Eunice, and younger sister Minnie. He started his professional career as a computer technician then served for many years as an accomplished and widely respected manager in the telecommunications and computer industries, for companies such as NCR, General Electric, and Honeywell Bull. Emil also held a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University. Emil and his family lived in various parts of the US before settling for many years in Arizona.
Emil enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities, working on and rebuilding automobiles, watching sporting events, and telling and listening to jokes. He is missed greatly and remembered fondly by all who knew him well.
