Emily Currin Toomey, 72, of Hillsborough NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday May 04, 2017 at 11:58 AM. after losing her battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother Delia Puckett Werner and her father Joseph D. Werner as well as her daughter Jennifer Toomey. She was survived by her husband of 39 years Charles Toomey as well as her children Brandon Currin (Paula) of Hillsborough, John Toomey (Maria), of Winston Salem, Chuck Toomey (MaryAnn) of Suwanee, Georgia, and Amy Krizek (Kevin) of Holly Springs; Grandchildren Sawyer Currin, Sophie Currin, Amelia Currin, Avery Currin, Noah Toomey, Hannah Toomey, Leah Toomey, Sophia Toomey, Max Toomey, Spencer Toomey, Jennifer Krizek, and Kayla Krizek. She is also survived by her sister Marie Berry (Bill) of Franklin, Tennessee, and her brother Joe Werner (Gail) of Charlotte. 

Emily spent the majority of her professional life as a personal banker for Wachovia Bank where she retired. After coming out of retirement, she was in management at Food Lion. She had a passion for painting and spending time with her 12 grandchildren and her beloved dog Oliver. Her life had a positive impact on countless people and she will be forever missed, but never forgotten. 

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church of Durham, N.C. Pastor Rick Finley will officiate.
