3rd Anniversary poem to Otee Our beloved father Fond memories linger every day Remembrance keeps him near. Gone is the face we loved so dear, Silent is the voice we loved to hear, Too far away for sight or speech, But not too far for thought to reach, Sweet to remember him who once was here, And who, though absent, is just as dear. Gone, dear father, gone forever, How we miss your smiling face, But you left us to remember None on earth can take your place. A happy home we once enjoyed - How sweet the memory still- But death has left a loneliness The world can never fill. Gone, dear father, gone to rest, Away from sorrow, care and pain; May you rest in peace, dear father, Until we meet again.
