Engr. Johnson Adewale Adegbulugbe was born on the 19th of February 1946 in Ondo Town, Ondo State, South-West of Nigeria to Pa John Adegbulugbe and Madam Victoria Mojisola Adegbulugbe(Nee Akintade) {both of blessed memories}.
EDUCATIONAL LIFE
He completed his primary education at All Saints’ Primary School, Ondo Town, Ondo State Nigeria in 1960 and attended the great St. Joseph's College, Ondo Town, Ondo State, Nigeria from 1961 to 1965 where he graduated with grade one in the West African School Certificate (WASC) Examinations. Apart from his brilliance and exemplary conduct at St. Joseph’s College, he was an outstanding sprinter and a member of the college’s relay team.
He attended Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro, Egbado from January 1966 to December 1967 for his higher school education on a full scholarship by a Western Nigeria Government Scholarship. While at Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro, he was the Athletic Captain, House Prefect (Sports) and the vice president of French Club.
He had his university education at University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he graduated (with one of the best results) as an Electronics Engineer in 1971.
He attended Marconi College, Chelmsford, England in 1973 from where he bagged a Postgraduate Certificate in Microelectronics/Material Engineering and Telecommunications. This was followed by Advanced Professional Engineering Career development in Japan.
WORK LIFE
On graduation from the university in 1971, he worked briefly as a graduate assistant in the university.
He joined Nigeria External Telecommunication (NET) Limited as a Senior Satellite/Research & Development Engineer until 1976 when he moved to Marubeni Corporation of Japan
He joined Marubeni Corporation of Japan as a Chief Engineer in charge of the Corporation’s expansive telecommunication projects in Nigeria.
He was appointed, as an Executive Director of Marubeni Engineering (West Africa) Limited in 1984 where he was till he retired. This made him the first Nigerian and indeed the first black African to reach that position.
He was named by the Marubeni "Shosha" magazine of Japan’s July 1993 publication as the most outstanding overseas personality of the quarter. This magazine was widely circulated in Japan and overseas.
On his retirement, the company appointed him as their Consultant (Telecoms) and as a Consultant to their associated company - NEC Corporation Japan
In 2000, he became a Country Representative and Director of MCI-WorldCom and Verizon (USA) for West and South Africa regions where he was overseeing the Carrier Service Business of Verizon in these regions.
He served on the board of some government and private institutions for the promotion of knowledge and Engineering Development.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
He is a Chartered Engineer of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Britain and Ireland(IEEE)
He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
He is a registered Electrical/Electronics Engineer of Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).
CHRISTIAN LIFE
He believed that the ultimate goal of life is to serve God and Humanity.
He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Ogbonkowo, Ondo State, Nigeria.
In Lagos State, he is a member of St Luke’s Anglican Church, Ijeshatedo where he was a past vice president of the Anglican Christian Fellowship (ACF).
He was a pioneer member of the Men’s Fellowship of Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja
He later joined the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Headquarters, Lagos where he was a member of the Men’s Choir and Prayer Warrior.
He really loves Christian hymns.

He is happily married to Pastor (Mrs) Abimbola Adegbulugbe (Nee Akintunde) and blessed with children and many grandchildren.
