TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER AND MENTOR
May 10, 2021
My father, Johnson Adewale
Adegbulugbe, “Daddy” as I call him was a good man, he thought us all to be
steadfast, trust God and never to get too big to serve in the vineyard of our
creator. He was a man of very modest lifestyle and expressions. He believed
your works should speak and your voice not necessarily heard.
He always drove us to be better and to live a balanced life. In his words “never rob Peter to pay Paul”. He was a man of excellence and ensured we performed on every task and project to the best of our abilities and resource available per time.
Daddy was a man of peace, a bridge builder across various strata and generations, he was a lover of God. He served God to the very end and never sought other ways outside of God. I will simply call him a man of God.
Professionally he was an astute engineer, enjoyed the company of his colleagues and was always eager to learn from younger professionals. In business he was a trailblazer, not too much of a risk taker and exhibited unrivaled integrity in his business and partnerships. This I know having worked with him in business and professionally.
He was open to the merger of the good in our culture and its integration to modernization essential for growth and development. I never saw Daddy disrespect any man or woman irrespective of age and status. He thought us independence and severally reminded me “no one owes me anything in life”. This has helped me express gratitude for all the little and not so little favours I have received at every point in my life.
Daddy never put anyone under pressure, he often said “it is not how fast but how well”. I am proud to always call you father and mentor. I love you Daddy to eternity.
I sure would miss your advices, your calm and the selfless service to me, your family and friends.
Adieu Daddy
