Our own sweet and amiable queen Eno. How can we get used to not seeing you at our OLAMIOSA Lagos Chapter meetings.
We thought you would be there for long to continue guiding the younger generation of OLAMIOSA LAGOS queens on how to build on the solid foundation you and other elders laid.
You were a rallying point; so dependable and ever so committed to any good course. You stood solidly behind the Ivowi family when your friend late queen Evarista passed unto glory in 2019.
What a fantastic job your Committee did on the OLAMIOSA COMPENDIUM. You showed great leadership skills without stressing your committee members, yet firm and result oriented.
You loved OLAMIOSA queens, both young and old. You enjoyed being in our midst at all social events of the Association, always cracking jokes.
The music stopped too early for you, dear sister, auntie, friend and mum.
To say you will be missed by OLAMIOSA queens is an understatement, but we take solace in the fact that you lived a simple, yet quality life and you are now resting in the bosom of your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Rest on, beloved and GOODNIGHT, our dear QUEEN ENO SHOBO (Nee UDOFIA) until we meet on the resurrection morning.

TRIBUTE TO MY LATE SISTER, "MUMMY SHOBO" Nee USANGA

Writing this is like a bad dream I want to wake up from, but is is unbelievably true that you have answered the Call to Glory.
As the first child and daughter, "Adiaha", of our late parents, Knight/Lady Edmund Etim Usanga, you cared for us your siblings who came after you, in, one way or another, without exception. You explained to each and every one of us, with good knowledge, the underlying facts and circumstances surrounding our births, and the reasons our late father gave us the names we bear today. Sometimes you revealed to us our full names which we never knew about, especially with your early calls of birthday wishes on our different birthdays. Such lexicon! Such wisdom! You were also the great historian of our family, revealing and explaining to us our family history and connections, when we sometimes get confused or do not understand.
You kept our family platform chatroom busy and lively, with constant and important posts and information, urging us to be careful and prayerful to God always, even less than a day before your shocking demise!
You were a very humble and kind hearted sister. You were a rare gem, a strong pillar, a very caring faithful and dependable wife of almost 50 years to your husband, Mrs Akin Shobo, a mother par excellence to all your children.
Indeed we thank God for your life of service to God through Christ and humanity.
As Paul the Apostle stated in his Letter to the Philippians 1:21 ..."to live in Christ, and to die is gain", you have accomplished both.

Words fail me, its shocking you left suddenly but I submit to God who keeps things in harmony. I had plans for you . I know you are in a better place in light, love and glory. I miss you, we'll all do.
Thank you for all the sacrifices you made. You were the centre that holds all together, the engine that kept things running. You were my helper. I am sad but also excited that you are in good place, where there is peace, joy and love, a place of everlasting light. I celebrate that. And I know you won't forget us just as we won't forget you, who could? You've touched lives.

TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR MOTHER
My dear darling mother, Mrs Eno Elizabeth Shobo, my best friend and confidant, my mentor, an angel in human form, a model, a lover of God with a humble and patient heart. We shared so much and had plans. You inspired me to move on in life no matter what life gives me. You encouraged me when all hope is gone with so much love and word of God. God used you to give me shelter in the midst of storm.
Emmanuella's Grandma, she calls you "Mama" you taught and brought her up with so much love, fear of God, teachings and training. You encouraged her in all spheres of life, you were there for her at all times: promotions and award giving. Ah! a prayer warrior, she wasn't herself when she heard of your demise. All your prayers for her and myself are manifesting in Jesus mighty name.
Mum, your death was truly a rude shock, I take solace in God knowing fully well that you're gone to a better place and we shall see at Gods own time by his grace. God took the decision for your life. I love you so much mum, I will forever miss you. Only God can fit into your shoes. I pray in accordance to his words that say "Ask and it shall be given" that he alone should bridge that gap in Jesus mighty name. My dear mother, your motherly sacrifices towards us your children in educational pursuit was really tremendous and very sacrificial. For all the sacrifices and many more both your extended family, people, friends, neighbours and mine, I say thank you my Gem. My dear mother, you have done your part as human, you left a very good legacy. I knew my heart drew so close to you on that faithful day, the 11th March 2021 after having a midnight prayer at 2am, I felt like calling and talk to you. I knew it was too early to place a call, so I decided to wait only for me to get a call at 6:35 am, I dashed down, rushed you down to the hospital, anointed you, prayed, called God to the remembrance of his words. I never imagined you wouldn't return home. I told God that he has always shown me things but this, he didn't. He knew if he did, I would have pleaded. That is why I know God took the decision for you mum.
Olorun ju mi lo, I am his friend, but he showed me another part of him.
The legacy you left behind is so huge and I pray that your children and grand children with generations unborn will continue instead and even surpass it in Jesus mighty name.
I believe in the power of resurrection as told by God, so we will meet by Gods grace. You live on Mom! Sleep well my beloved mother.

I write this with great sadness over the unimaginable loss of a very good and caring grandmother. Thank you for your love and everything that you have done for me. Just like rapture, you left, you started fixing things in the house not knowing you were saying goodbye. That night you sat outside, quiet, calm and just looking at the sky, I did not perceive you were trying to say goodbye.
You taught me to love foolishly, put the priority of others first, love the brethren, give myself to service, offer sacrifices and never regret the good I have for others, I am doing now, and it should not deter the good I will do tomorrow, so many words to say but one question.
I pray God answers when I get to heaven why you left at that time you left. You have always been there for me but now, I am alone with God, it is well.

My heart is still sore. The memory of that Thursday morning wounds me. I miss you and always will, daddy misses you too. I find comfort knowing that you are in a better place., resting in God. It was a great journey. You and me through nursery, primary and secondary, medical and postgraduate school and in life, you walked and stood strong by me. You shielded me with the storms of life on your knees, pleading my causes in prayers to God, paving the way for me. If I were to write of your good deeds, this book will not contain them. You were the best of them all. This Thursday morning I came as quick as I could. I am deeply sorry I did not get to you on time. It hurts me. *MY CONDOLENCES TO THE OLAMIOSA LAGOS CHAPTER*
Re: Late ELDER QUEEN ENO SHOBO

I am writing this piece to register my personal condolences to the entire members of the OLAMIOSA Lagos Chapter on the sudden demise of elder Queen Eno, an indefatigable patriot and pioneer of OLAMIOSA.
Senior Eno was my friend and mentor and contributed in no small measure to OLAMIOSA's achievements at the national level. She was an encourager, always ready to champion and lend a helping hand wherever and whenever needed. She was intelligent, diligent, focused and hardworking and humble to a fault. I nostalgically recall my encounter with her in December last year at the Thanksgiving party of the Lagos Chapter where she was among the elderly queens honoured with awards for meritorious service. While escorting me to my car as I was taking my leave, she humbly offered to help carry some of my items. Of course I declined but she stood her ground. To me, that was a big deal, coming from a senior to a junior. As a friendly and compassionate elder, Senior Eno regularly communicated with me to check how I was fairing.
The bond between us was strong and palpable. This probably explained why she would defy the Covid-19 threats to attend my daughter’s wedding at Abeokuta in January. This action touched my heart so much. Hardly did I get a hunch that that was going to be my last time of seeing her physically. It's been so, so painful to say the least. Adieu Mama Shobo, ęni iyi, ęni ęyę. Rest on till we meet to part no more.

Home Call of A Gem - Elder Queen Eno Elizabeth Shobo, FCIPM, B.Sc Hons. Bus. Admin

With heavy heart but total submission to the Will of the supreme God, the family of Mr. Gilbert Shobo has announced the passing on to glory of Elder Queen Eno E. Shobo, neé Udofia, who passed on to glory on Thursday, 11 March 2021. Until her death, she was a highly valued and indefatigable member of OLAMIOSA Lagos Chapter.
Queen Eno belonged to the 1961-65 Set and was in Loretto House during the period. She was also Church Prefect and Labour Prefect. She held a B.Sc Hons degree in Business Administration and was Fellow, CIPM. At various times of her career life, she was a Banker, Secretary and HR Manager in Bank, Government Service, Textile Industry, Steel& Metal products,
The sad news of her death this morning has thrown the entire OLAMIOSA family into deep mourning. She was a friend and mentor to many of us. Her humility and simple nature was outstanding. To say that the OLAMIOSA family shall miss her would be an understatement.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. To the rest of OLAMIOS family, and her immediate family, may God Almighty comfort us. Odun a jina si ra o.
