His Life

Eric's Life

August 25, 2016
Born in Medina, on October 31,1966,  Eric had a rough start. Abandonded by his mother at a young age, Eric went through a series of foster homes before he was adopted by  Louis and Freda Crawford. He eventually found work he loved at Keeler Construction. Starting out as a mechanic, then eventually learning how to drive a 10-wheel dump truck and eventually an 18-wheel Flow Boy. In August of 1996 he met Linda Lindsay, moved to Gates, NY and became a loving father to Linda's son, Michael, from a previous marriage who later stood as Eric's best man when he and Linda tied the knot on February 21, 1999. He also started his own trucking company, calling it Crawford Trucking. His pride and joy, other than his 2 children being a 1999 Freightliner.  Being a new company, Eric tried hard to make it a success, but when 9/11 happened, the trucking industry took a beating and Crawford Trucking folded. Eric took a job as a long haul truck driver, and while delivering in Pennsylvania, he fell, hurting his back to a point where he could no longer work. He stayed home, taking care of his family the best he could, while Linda worked outside the home. After several operations to regain his health, Eric developed CHF, and was hospitalized several times. Michael married Heather, his high school sweetheart and a few years later, blessed the family with a beautiful baby girl! Unfortunately, Eric would only have a few months with his precious granddaughter, Luna Mae. Eric's family was growing, and he was so proud!  Eric's life was almost perfect except for his declining health and at age 48  in the early morning hours of August 14, 2015, Eric passed away, at home, leaving his family devastated by the loss of such a loving man and a guiding force for them. Eric was a good and honorable man. He was loved by many, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.  Until we meet again....Love you always and forever, Linda
