His Life
July 10, 2014

Eric R. Fannings was born July 13, 1982 in Atlanta, GA to the late Jim E. Fannings, Jr. and Patsy F. Cornick. He departed this earthly life untimely on July 4, 2014 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, GA.

After graduating high school, Eric attended Griffin Technical College. He worked with several companies such as Home Depot and Interface before becoming self-employed. He was an entrepreneur in all aspects of the term, with his multiple business ventures he has pursued throughout the years like junk hauling, lawn service and most recently with E & E Investment Solutions, specializing in real estate and property management.

Eric was affectionately referred to as “Moon”. He was an avid sports fan and loved all things Georgia Bulldogs! He was quite the chef. While a caregiver for his grandmother, he learned all of Mary’s secret recipes and regularly cooked for his family. He was truly the life of the party and it was rarely a dull moment around him. His Facebook post were legendary! It truly was a reflection of his carefreeness. His warm smile touched us all. He was so loved and will be sorely missed by his family and a countless number of friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Jim E. Fannings, Jr; paternal grandparents, Jim Sr. and Mary Fannings; maternal grandparents, Elbert and Nannie Fields; aunt, Beverly Mayo.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted mother, Patsy and a step-father he warmly referred to as “Daddy Mac”, Malcolm Cornick, Atlanta, GA; loving and devoted sister, Erin Fannings, Atlanta, GA; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other loving relatives and long time friends.

All who loved, respected and admired Eric will miss him. May he rest in peace.
