Uncle Eric was like a father to me, I spent most of my school holidays at their home in Moi Air Base. I would always look forward to spending time with my cousins and take the opportunity to learn from Uncle Eric a few things about planes and how the military works. I was super happy when he got to take me inside some of the planes for the first time in my life, it was really a dream come true… forever thankful for that opportunity. I was always fascinated to see how disciplined the military was, starting from his shoes for National celebrations, which would shine almost as if you could see your face, then to him being picked up by his military drivers Kioko and Lamweya at least the 2 I could remember, who would ensure that his car was sparkling clean and left without any spot. The level of respect was so evident, and salutes could be seen when his car passed the military and police.
He was always there for my dad (Johnny) they were really best friends, they had developed a bond that was so unbreakable and I am sure many can attest to that. We travelled a lot with Uncle Eric and his family, and he would always be so chill enjoying his happy times during those holidays. Indeed, memories made of such moments. My dear uncle has played a very big role in my life while growing up, as most of you knew how difficult and mischievous, I was back in the days and dad would always call Uncle Eric to help talk to me and I would be sent to him to receive words of wisdom. He was there to arrange, plan and see me through my transition to adulthood, he was there to take me to my first boarding school, he was there when things were tough in our lives at some point, he was always there in our lives. I really cannot thank you enough for all your love, kindness, generosity, and patience. Words cannot describe enough the kind of person you were. We are forever grateful to have had you in our lives and to be a part of yours. Uncle, you will be missed, and you will never be forgotten, may your soul rest in peace. SAY A BIG HELLO TO ALL OUR FALLEN HEROES UP THERE WE LOVE YOU ALL
