Yinx and I miss you very much. We know that you laugh at how we are learning Dressage and roll your eyes at our attempts. I also know that your most hearts desire has been fulfilled, Yinx is happy and very much loved. Thank you Eric for asking me to care for Yinx. You trusted me with what meant the most to you.

Eric where ever you are I am sure you are fine and happy like me that Yinxi got the change well and is now happy with your sister.

1 year ago you left Eric, we did not forget you and Yinx. Yinx is spending a great time with Nancy and gets spoiled as much as you wanted him to be spoiled. I love to see the pictures Nancy sends to me, Yinx looks so good! Greetings to you where ever you are now

Happy Birthday Eric! I could not give you a better present than to say that your beloved Yinx has arrived in the USA. It was always your wish that if anything happened to you that Yinx come and live with me and after much planning and organizing with Agnes at Steighof Yinx landed in New York on Tuesday. So now after time in quarentine at the USDA stable in Maryland Yinx will be with us getting loved and spoiled just like you wanted.

Your greatest wish came true, yeasterday Yinx arrived safely in NY and soon will be with your lovely sister Nancy. We are so happy ! All the best. Now we miss two personalities here at Steighof stables.

Dear Eric, I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of your passing. You always had something amusing or interesting to say to brighten up the day. As a fellow horse rider, I particularly enjoyed chatting to you about natural horsemanship. I remember going to see Yinx with you - such a beautiful horse. I feel privileged to have had you on my team during your employment at TECH OP in Baden. May God bless you Eric, you were one of the best and you will certainly live on in our memories.

Eben gestern wollte ich Dich anrufen und suchte nach Deiner Adresse. Doch leider fand ich die sehr traurige Nachricht, dass Du nicht mehr unter uns weilst. Es hat mich sehr erschüttert. - Nur zu gerne erinnere ich mich an die schöne und unbeschwerte Zeit, die wir bei ABB verbrachten. Immer wieder höre ich Dein Lachen, welches uns froh und heiter gestimmt hat. Du hast uns immer wieder grossartige Geschichten erzählt, von Deinen Erlebnissen in den USA und Deiner Leidenschaft mit dem Pferd. Du wirst uns allen in stets guter Erinnerung bleiben. Wir sind traurig, einen guten Freund verloren zu haben.

Dear Eric,
Many mornings you and I stood in the parking zone in front of Swisslog and chatted about this and that. Both being Americans living in Switzerland, we had many thoughts to share about life in Europe. You always had new words you wanted me to teach my business English students. Or we talked about bumper stickers. You offered me a link so that I could make my own. Your favorite one was "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going". Now and then you sent me more words to learn, new words that had been coined that were funny and even outrageous.
The parking space you often filled is empty now. I can't believe that you are gone. I can still see your jeep there.
We are happy to know that your horse is going to America and will carry your spirit back home. My best wishes to your family and loved ones.

ich kann es nicht glauben! Soeben hatten wir noch gemailt und du hattest von deinem Segeltörn in Sardinien und deinen nachfolgenden Reitferien erzählt, jetzt sollst du nicht mehr unter uns sein.
Danke für deine Freundschaft. In Endingen, wo du selber vor Jahren Aufnahme gefunden hattest, haben wir uns zusammen um die Asylsuchenden gekümmert. Es hat mich immer aufgestellt, als du von deinen Reiterlebnissen und von deinen Reisen erzählt hast. Du warst immer fröhlich und hast das Leben genossen und so genommen, wie es gekommen ist.
Nun musstest du uns so früh verlassen lieber Eric! Ruhe in Frieden, ich werde dich nicht vergessen. Isabelle

Lieber Eric, mit grossem Bedauern habe ich erfahren, dass du nicht mehr unter uns weilst. Wir hatten immer eine gute Zeit zusammen im Stall und auch an den gemeinsam Ausflügen, die wir unternommen haben. Es war immer sehr interessant mit Dir zu "plaudern" Die Zeit und führsorge die Du für Dein "Schmusi Hengstli" investiert hast hat mich immer sehr beeindruckt.
Leider mussten wir mit grossem Schrecken erfahren, das Du für immer von uns gegangen bist.

We still can't belive that you will not come back! You were far too young to leave. We take care of Yinx until Nancy will take over this job and will never forget you and your "Schmusi". R.I.P.

Lieber Eric,
Du warst mir ein guter Freund für viele Jahre, auch in ganz schwarzen Tagen,
für Yinx warst Du immer ein fürsorglicher Freund für mehr als 20 Jahre - er wird Dich schmerzlich vermissen, auch wenn Deine Schwester ihn nun nach den USA holt und versuchen wird, seinen Verlust zu ersetzen.
Ich hoffe, dass Yinxi diesen grossen Transport mit Quarantäne, ohne seinen langjährigen Freund, in ein neues Klima, gut übersteht mit seinen 23 Jahren.
Ich bin immer noch ganz geschockt über Deinen frühen Tod.
