The 36 year old Williamstown Middle School Teacher has passed from this world on Saturday, October  17th, following her two year battle with cervical cancer. 

Erin was born on September 9th, 1984, in Camden, NJ to mother Tracey Pickard Lynch and father Donald  Lynch Jr. The eldest of three children (sister Katie and brother DJ), Erin was the first to get married on  June 27th, 2015 to husband Matt Fender. The two ended up living together in Williamstown, NJ where  they raised their dogs, Reggie and Kelce, as their children. 

From a young age, Erin showed natural talent in gymnastics and eventually excelled in soccer and track and-field through High School as well. Through her strong will and unmatched determination, Erin  ended up receiving a scholarship to compete in gymnastics at Rutgers University. Specializing in the  Vault and the Floor Exercise, Erin played a major role in the Scarlet Knights becoming the 2005 USAGC  National Champions. 

Using her athletic abilities and experiences, Erin inspired many young gymnasts as she coached at the  International Gymnastics Camp as well as Flyers Academy and Atlantic Coast Gymnastics. Her upbeat  personality carried over to Clearview Regional and Williamstown Middle Schools, where countless  students had the pleasure of having Ms. Lynch as one of their physical education teachers. 

Many friends and family members know her as someone that could quote every line from any episode  of the TV show ‘Friends,’ and someone that knew more about the wizarding world than Harry Potter  himself. Erin was a big supporter of all the Philly sports teams, but loved none more than the  Philadelphia Eagles. People still debate if Erin’s favorite day was the day she married Matt, or the day  the Eagles won Super Bowl 52. Go birds. 

There will be a public visitation Friday, October 23, 2020 at FERTIG FUNERAL HOME, 63 N. Main St., Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 from 2-4pm, and 6-9pm. Erin's Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately due to Covid restrictions on Saturday. The Mass will be livestreamed via the website www.holyspiritweb.org, under Parish Masses Livestreaming at 12 Noon.

Is with a heavy heart I write this message. Erin was such a joy to me and the rest of our indoor cohead soccer team at Gatanoes Friday night league. She has such a presence on and off the pitch. I am so sad to lose such a gentle soul. My heart and prayer go out to her entire family for the loss. May all the memories of Erin we carry in our hearts stay with us forever.

Mrs. Lynch was my 8th-grade health teacher. She was always so kind and funny and she was a really cool teacher. It hit us (me and fellow students) hard when we found out she passed because we didn't know she was sick so it was like she was just gone out of nowhere. She was always smiling and made her students happy too. She was an all-around great person and on behalf of all of your past students, we love and miss you, Mrs. Lynch Fly High <3

On behalf of the Clearview Girl’s Track program, I want to extend my sincerest sympathies to Erin’s husband Matt, and the entire Lynch family. Erin’s passing is devastating to all of us who knew her as a strong, and vibrant young women! I will always remember Erin as someone who could be strong willed, extremely competitive, but who also possessed a warm and wonderful personality. She was one of the stalwarts of our track and field program at Clearview, and I was blessed with opportunity to coach her, and witness so many of her athletic accomplishments. A few years after Erin’s graduation, she came back to Clearview, and I had the opportunity to watch her become an excellent educator who was loved and admired by all her students. Erin will be forever loved and missed by her coaches and teammates at Clearview!

Erin was truly the sparkle of joy in the eyes of so many. I was so stunned to learn of Erin's passing. I came to know her mostly as one of our fierce competitors; as I was the Kingsway Track coach and Erin was such a pivotal part of the great Clearview squads. No matter the outcome, Erin was always friendly, outgoing and such an inspiration to watch. When I would run into her at other events she always made a point of greeting me with that great smile and ask how things were going. I know she meant so much to her family, her schools, her teammates and her friends. E-Money!!! Where do I start, you my friend were one of my favourite people on earth. We always kept in touch, no matter the distance. Talking, laughing, joking around and counting down till the next time I would be in the USA. I got to stand by you while you married Matt and even stood in the rain for all your photos! We never missed an opportunity to make memories and my heart is full because of that. I had the pleasure of knowing Erin through her Ciocia (Karyn Pickard) while completing her Student Teaching at KRMS. She was a special young lady with a passion for life who lived that way, all the way until her last breath. Erin’s battle with cancer was truly inspirational to many people. My prayers go out to Matt, her Mom and Dad, Sister Katie, and Brother DJ, as well as all her family and friends that had the pleasure of knowing Erin. The world may have lost a rock star but Heaven gained an angel.

Sad I won't be able to make this tonight and be with everyone there for Erin. But as sad as everything has been, it brought a smile to my face any time I popped up in all the pictures that have been shared, knowing I was lucky enough to experience so many of those moments with her and everyone else. There have been so many stories shared about Erin and her wild and infectious energy and that's all true, so I'll try to share a different one.
After some long days and weeks of camp, I remember talking to Erin and some others one night about feeling burnt out. Of course, as a veteran of many summers, she understood. So the next night, she took me out to a bar, not to go crazy, but to be offsite, have one drink, and just reset. That's who Erin was too. For as often as she brought the good time, she was just as likely to be the person to recognize exactly what you needed and how she could facilitate it.
There are so few people who can bring so much joy into the lives of everyone they come in contact with. She truly was a superhero and she will be missed.

My cousin was a inspiration to all the lives that she touched. We all know of her love of gymnastics and of coarse those days when we were kids when she wanted to hang with her friends instead. But what most don’t know is how she was hard on herself but as she got older the kids stole her heart she truly just felt good by helping them with their gymnastics dreams. Camp every summer. I remember asking her one time....Hey why do you keep going back? Some do a few years and move on right? And her answer didn’t surprise me...... she said those kids need me. They depend on me. They want me to be there. And that feels so great to be a part of something bigger then me and change their summers to something awesome. She was always that person. Always thinking of others. 

She powered through everything she put her mind to. I teased her about running for fun, and I would say “I would only run if zombies are chasing me” and we would laugh. 

She was the most selfless, humble person I have ever met. We went skiing together. Played volleyball at all the family functions she was always the first to round everyone up at the family reunions. She was the dang beer pong champion- she was so so good at everything she did.

And boy did she love football.(well football, her husband, her dogs, and reggae music prob in that order ) Out of all the Lynch girls she was their number one supporter hands down. She admitted to me that she of coarse loved them, but the bonus was sharing that love with her father. She was the first cousin to carry on the Lynch tradition of having a miniature dachshund and she loved his little butt to pieces, and Reggie is the bestest. But she was so so excited to get kelce too. She’s all she talked about for months . ❤️

Erin we will always be inspired by you. By your strong will. Your strong love for your puppers and to get home to them as you did. You managed to create miracles everywhere you went. I will miss you with everything. I keep thinking this is “The one where they wake up from the dream”. ❤️ One day we will meet again. And we can talk about all the beach days and riding bikes and dressing up my brothers in girls clothes and love on each other.
