Today is Ernest's birthday. Just reflecting on my visit with him and his sisters at the beginning of his transitioning. He was overjoyed as he held my hand and I spoke of the old days at St. Thomas Church in Baden where his father pastored for many years.
Ernest was my basketball hero from high school days at Douglas in Upper Marlboro.

Ernest will truly be missed. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-law and friend. Ernest left a beautiful legacy for his family. He will always be remembered as a person who would do anything for his family.
Sincere condolences and prayers are sent to the family. Cherish the beautiful memories that you had as a family and love everyone. Love Aunt Audrey & Uncle Owen.

Don’t think of him as gone away, his journey has just begun. God gave us an awesome brother-in-law because he knew we didn’t have a brother. Ernest was truly a blessing in our lives. Today, I want to say thank you, Ernest, for all the special things you did in my sister’s life. Even though your presence leaves a void, we are comforted by the memories we have of you and the fact you’re reaping the fruits of your labor now. Anyone who knew Ernest was touched by his kindness and mild temperament. We know you are now singing in God’s heavenly choir with your beautiful bass voice, while serenading my sister and all of your loved ones that were waiting for you to join them. You loved and were dearly loved and will be missed by all of us. Enjoy eternity and rest in peace, dear brother-in-law.
Love, Larry and Pat (Turner) Mitchell
