It's been nearly 16years now since the passing of my beloved grandfather, but somedays it still feels like just yesterday, and i miss him sooooo much.

I thought that they said it gets easier with the passage of time. Maybe true for some but it sure hasn't worked for /with me, cos God knows that it still hurts badly.

He should have been here when...........

- I got into uni.......

- of course i graduated

-

-

-

- my kids were born

- i needed so badly to speak to him.............................................

Papa i bet you are very happy, now that your beloved wife has joined you in glory land. you are now reunited to continue your great love affair. Just like you, she left on a Sunday and something tells me you were right there to receive her. I love you both and will miss you forever. Thank you for being a part of my life.

"Those we love don't go away,
they walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and very dear.""

Yes, indeed, it is like yesterday, his passing. Today, my dad should have been 97 years of age. I miss him all the time. Coming to grips with his demise is quite difficult but the fact that I know he made heaven is quite refreshing. I love you dad. You were the best. You live on in my mind and now I have a reason to be happier because you are back here.

People say, `time heals wounds` but this is a wound I want to live with all the days of my life. Not pain but happiness to know that my dad was a wonderful father. I remember him always and cherish all the good times we shared.

Just as my sister said above, even after 16 years it still hurts as hell not to have my grand dad here. I have a son who is named after him and any time I look at Nathan he reminds me ever so much of you Papa, same smile, same folding in of his lips and he even has a birthmark on his back just like you. Sometimes I think Papa has re-incarnated in my son. I love u loads n wish u were here.

Education

July 16, 2012

Education was so important to Papa. Throughout my educational history, teachers, lecturers and students alike have commented on my grasp of the English language and the way I express my thoughts on paper.

I remember every day I return from primary and secondary school, Papa will spend an hour or two going through what I had studied for the day. He made me join the debating society both in school and in church and was ever so proud when I returned with awards and prizes.

So you can imagine my great sorrow when he died just before I took the exams that would take me into University. But for him, I don't think education would be as much fun as it has been.

Great name Giver

Papa had a name for everyone and every situation, and whatever name he called a thing or person made sense.

There were names like bebeiju, namame, e do, asia, and so many more.
