Essie Daniel Hamm, 103, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville, VA.

A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Johnny Daniel and Dora Blackwell. She was the oldest member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church, was a homemaker, farmed and ran a country store for many years. She was a very talented seamstress and loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Johnny Richards. Burial will be in Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by a special nephew, Wayne Blackwell (Lillie) of Bullock and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Hamm, her twin sister, Bessie Blackwell and several siblings.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made in memory of Essie Hamm to the Jerome and Dora Faulkner Scholarship Fund,% Mt. Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 668, Oxford, NC 27565.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
