The sun rose on the life of ET Thomas-Smiley on December 26, 1921 in
Alexander City, Alabama and finally set on September 14, 2011.
ET worked for Bob White Hotel for many years and was a faithful employee until her retirement. She joined Mount Zion Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.
ET was a simple woman that loved to sit alone on her porch observing the beauty of nature. With ET's passing we remind ourselves that her life is one to be celebrated, although we will miss her every day, her winning smile will always remain forever in our hearts. Through her teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to know her. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents Early Thomas and Josie Sandlin-Thomas. Her brothers Claude Thomas and Ocie Thomas, Samuel Thomas, James Thomas and Hessaki Thomas.
Auntie ET, as she was affectionately called leaves to morn her nieces: Ruth Thomas-Phillips of Inglewood, CA; Frances Thomas-Bowers of Goodwater, AL. Nephews: Bob Thomas, Rev. Jimmy Lee (Patricia) Brooks, Jr. A host of family and friends.
She leaves behind special friends: William L. Holley, Ressie Thomas and niece-in-law, Fannie N. Thomas.
