Ethel Marie Hayden Spencer, 88, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Brantwood Nursing Center in Oxford.
A native of Westmoreland Co, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Howard Hayden and Anna L. Adams. Ethel was of the Baptist faith and a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor. She was retired from John Umstead Hospital in Butner.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel by Rev. Jonathan Barbee. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are three daughters, Terri S. Stallings of Blackstone, Virginia, Betty S. Butler of Stem and Gwendolyn Spencer of Creedmoor; a sister, Dora Miles of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Spencer; four sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be held 11:30 – 12:45 P.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 prior to the funeral services at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
